If these riots are about fuel prices and taxes, I’ll sell you my local bridge.

“The violence is increasing at an exponential rate,” said Claude, a well-heeled resident in the affluent 16th district. “The state is losing control, it is scary. They cannot let this happen. Maybe the army should intervene.”~~~~~~~~~~Macron is in a no win situation...

..."decommissioning"...

I wondered about that, too. At first it looked like a typical auto-translation error, but the original looks funky as well. Could be a slang term like "cancel," which has a special meaning only to fans of "La Femme Nikita."

The fact that the rioting has occurred on the last three weekends tells me that most of these people have jobs. Therefore this is a populist movement. As such it is far worse politically for Macrons progressive bullies. If Macron cracks down on these protestors it would be like lighting a match in a gunpowder magazine. I think that sexy blonde nationalist Marine Le Pen should run again, she maybe the next President of France.

Same crap went on in 1967. What happened to that ‘revolution’?

You mean 1968. We call them the "Soixante-Retards".

It’s the same groups of young people that love to destroy...they know they don’t have to pay for it when they’re done....

I suspect anarchists are hijacking protests that were legitimate and peaceful.

Look at the pictures. All we see are the violent thugs. Why aren't there anymore pictures from the media of the legitimate protestors?

They are portraying the anti government protests as violent.

I think here it means loss or lowering of social status.

An interesting side element of these moments of social breakdown in history—be it the French Revolution, the Russian Revolution, the fairly-bloodless “Carnation Revolution” of Portugal in 1974, or the more recent mess in Yugoslavia—is that of people taking advantage of the general unrest to settle old scores.

It wouldn’t surprise me if some—perhaps even most?—of the totally-unrelated-to-fuel-taxes destruction of businesses and homes we’re seeing in Paris is exactly that.

Does it always have to be Islam? France, and Europe in general, have a multitude of problems because extreme left-wing politics is playing out to its ultimate and inevitable conclusion: failure. And the more it fails, the more they try to fix it by ramping up the causes of its failure. What do lefties find so hypnotizing about their ideology that they can’t see anything else, even when it’s destroying them?

Oh. So much for my total recall. There were a lot of riots. A lot of drunk students and destruction. A lot of talk of ‘revolution’. Same sh!t. Different century.

“President Emmanuel Macron promised that protesters would be ‘held responsible for their acts’ “

The European leaders never say that about Muslims.

“After seeing how california voted against eliminating the oppressive gas tax I’m ashamed of my country.”

Only be ashamed of California. A $25 wheel tax was taken out of consideration here because people complained, and car registration is only $27 (compared to $200 for a junker and over $600 for a 20 year old truck and $400 for a new car in California ).

Other parts of the country are fighting for our freedoms to remain intact!

((((Meanwhile, the cucked Germans (who incidentally have the same fuel prices and insane politics as in France) just keep going to work, shutting down non-Marxist discussion, and acting like everything is hunky-dory. At least the French have the balls to stand up and be counted.))))

Ol’ Angela cut off anything to do negatively with the refugees flowing into her country...then she got Zuckerberg to shut it down as well.....Macronie is her little pit bull in France.....and Trudeu isn’t far behind in Canada.

Angela’s Meddling in Canadian politics is another reason why Trump consistently is giving her the cold shoulder.

Macron doesn't seem to be concerned about much at all....even when his house was on fire there in Paris...

His reaction was...Will not tolerate violence......his positions still stand
