Last night, Jerome Corsi explained to Tucker Carlson and his audience how the Mueller team was able to charge him with lying to them in order to pressure him to (in his view) to give false testimony implicating Paul Manafort. It is a harrowing tale as he tells it. If you believe him, he is a victim of a ruthless team that took possession of his computer, smart phone, and other records, and then spent hours grilling him over details of his communications years earlier. When he failed to remember that he forwarded one email, they had him on a charge of lying, even though, as he told Tucker Carlson (rush transcript via Grabien):
Now the special counsel came in and blew up and they actually sent me home and gave me an opportunity to review the emails. When I came back, I amended the testimony to say that I now remember the email. The special counsel was happy with that until I couldn’t give them what they wanted. Which was a connection that I had with Assange, which they assumed I have come which I I didn’t have. Now suddenly, they forgot they allowed me to amend my testimony and they are going back to the mistake I made, when I forgot the emails. So really, I think, it is completely fraudulent, the charge that they were trying to get me to plead to. I refused to plead to a lie.

Corsi’s hubris thinking he could recall and present such details accurately enough not to say he’d have to check his records, to the best of his recollection, he doesn’t recall, etc.?
IMO Corsi isn’t who he presents himself as and he is reported to have worked with Mueller in the past, so I don’t put this past some sort of setup going on that we don’t fully understand.

I despise people like Hillary and her constant “I don’t recall” evasions. But, she clearly understands how this game is played, and she clearly understands how to stay out of trouble. I really don’t understand why our side has not absorbed the lesson.

The same reason anyone ever does, from the local police knocking on your door saying they are doing interviews for an investigation, all the way to being subpoenaed. Even if you suspect they are trying to connect you to something, two things are going to drive you to cooperate. First, if you believe you are innocent, you don’t think you’re going to incriminate yourself by cooperating. Second, people fear that they are going to cause themselves to become the focus of an investigation if they appear uncooperative. I’d imagine that if you already have a background in law, criminal justice or politics you probably feel more arrogant, more protected, or at least more capable of recognizing what you shouldn’t say. But just like has become well-discussed ever since the Mueller investigation has been debated about perjury traps, these guys are professionals and very well experienced at causing people to miss-step so that they can either put the squeeze on them or prosecute. No matter how good you think you are, their bag of tricks is designed so that you don’t see it coming until it’s too late.
Right there is how they've gotten by with the stuff they have. Once you don't give them what they want, they twist everything you've said and then threaten prison. All without a legitimate trial. Evil, evil.
As I understand it, the cost of ignoring those entities can be more expensive that most people can afford or can access. For example, I live near my families is rural Michigan. Finding a defense attorney capable of taking on DoJ/FBI would be a problem. Any ideas?
His first mistake was talking to them. It went downhill from there.
Mueller is getting revenge for Obama on Corsi for going after his birth records and college admissions during his presidency.
It is to the same end. They just go about reaching it differently today.
Corsi is a shill and complete fraud. Used to love the guy then dug deeper and find out he’s hanging with Mossad. Hope he dies in jail like he’s predicting.
