The U.S.-Mexico border at the San Ysidro Port of Entry was closed in both directions for more than five hours on Sunday after hundreds of migrants rushed the area, prompting federal authorities to launch tear gas in an apparent attempt to get the group to disperse.
The confrontation highlights the escalating tensions along the border as thousands of migrants from Central America poured into Tijuana in recent weeks seeking asylum to enter the U.S. President Trump has pushed to keep any migrants in Mexico as they await the immigration process.

Exactly right. Just stock up on tear gas and continue to use it liberally until these gate crashers get the hint. No need for snipers, machine guns, napalm, A-10's or any other of the ridiculous ideas being tossed out here on FR.

The fact is snipers could stop this problem in a heart beat but by all means lets throw tear gas put up razor wire make a big show of it - meanwhile they are sneaking through everyday.

Thousands of Americans have been murdered by illegal immigrants how many more before this is stopped what’s the number? It’s not just this incident this is just the latest round. i imagine that would be next if the five-hour closure doesn’t get the attention of the Mexican government ... my guess is the brief closure is enough to prompt effective action by the Mexican government ... at this point, the entire international community knows that Trump isn’t someone who puffs and bluffs and postures, but really does mean business and does NOT bluff ... unlike every useless President we’ve had for the last 30 years ...
I’m not trusting their overnight security at that crossing at all.
