Scientists have proposed a new method to fight global warming: sun-dimming aerosols released into earth’s atmosphere. Research from scientists at Harvard and Yale universities was recently published in a journal called Environmental Research Letters which proposes using a technique called stratospheric aerosol injection to fight against climate change. The proposed technique would see scientists launching sulfate particles into the Earth’s lower stratosphere at altitudes up 12 miles high.
Currently, the technology exists but there are no aircraft suitable to carry the particles and “developing a new, purpose-built tanker with substantial payload capabilities would neither be technologically difficult nor prohibitively expensive,” the researchers stated. The researchers have estimated that it would cost $3.5 billion to launch a system in 15 years time and would cost $2.25 billion a year to maintain over the course of those 15 years.

It's big but not infinite. The current level of jet engine exhaust, mostly water vapor, adds to cirrus clouds and produces global warming.
Condensation trails, or contrails, generated from high-altitude aircraft exhaust may affect climate because they can persist for many hours. Like their natural counterparts, these anthropogenic cirrus clouds reflect solar radiation and absorb and emit thermal infrared radiation causing a radiative forcing that depends on many factors, especially contrail optical depth and coverage (Sassen 1997; Meerkötter et al. 1999).

The long and short of it is that the high clouds trap more heat energy (all day and all night) than the amount of solar energy they reflect to space. So we are already playing with the upper atmosphere and causing some global warming. That said, I think it's an extremely bad idea to deliberately cause global cooling. Even minor natural cooling events, like Pinatubo, caused crop disasters. The lower sunlight created poor growing conditions for diverse areas like tropical corals and northern forests.
Well, it would be easy to reverse the effects if it backfires. /s

A better solution is to move the earth and associated satellites several million miles due west of the sun.

The U.N. has already been doing this for years. Google Geoengineering and it comes right up. Another name for it is chem trails. Which stand for chemical trails. The U.N. spraying liquid metal in the stratosphere in the hope to reflect the Sunlight. So the Earth does not “heat up”.

Its a very stupid headline. They are not proposing to actually reduce sun output, but to block solar radiation from reaching the earth’s surface by polluting the atmosphere.
It often does pay to read the short excerpts, not just the headline.

In general high clouds (with cold tops) cause global warming and low cloud with low warm tops cause global cooling, although there are other factors like seaonality (e.g. when there's no sun in high latitude winter, then clouds almost always cause warming). Another factor is what is beneath the clouds. Snow is a great reflector of solar energy, and clouds are usually darker than snow as seen from space.
Vapor trails in the sky are water vapor, not “chem” anything. Jet fuel has lots of hydrogen and burning it creates more water by weight than the weight of the fuel.
