Her full quote from a separate Guardian article is something worth bookmarking and requires a bit of comment/refutation:

“A significant part of the problem here is people’s desire for a leader that is going to just push through change without regard to political pressures, you know, that ‘getting things done’ mentality.”

Clinton said rightwing populists in the west met “a psychological as much as political yearning to be told what to do, and where to go, and how to live and have their press basically stifled and so be given one version of reality.

“The whole American system was designed so that you would eliminate the threat from a strong, authoritarian king or other leader and maybe people are just tired of it. They don’t want that much responsibility and freedom. They want to be told what to do and where to go and how to live … and only given one version of reality.

“I don’t know why at this moment that is so attractive to people, but it’s a serious threat to our freedom and our democratic institutions, and it goes very deep and very far and we’ve got to do a better job of shining a light on it and trying to combat it.”

Now, to give the witch her due, the first paragraph's sentiment is true. However, she projects that sentiment on the right when in reality it exists on the left. Remember Woody Allen wishing that we could have an Obama dictatorship and all the freakish videos of children repeating pro-Obama propaganda, or Obama's treatment of Fox (the only non-left media outlet of substance during his Admin)? Thus, like all shrews manipulators, she mixes some truth amidst the fakery.

This mixing happens in the third and fourth paragraphs as well. However, in her zeal and anger she unintentionally reveals how the Founders' intent for the "American system ...(to) eliminate the threat from a strong, authoritarian king or other leader" actually helped defeat her in 2016. In reality, we aren't "tired of it but we put it in to action.

I give you... Federalist #10:

AMONG the numerous advantages promised by a well constructed Union, none deserves to be more accurately developed than its tendency to break and control the violence of faction. The friend of popular governments never finds himself so much alarmed for their character and fate, as when he contemplates their propensity to this dangerous vice. He will not fail, therefore, to set a due value on any plan which, without violating the principles to which he is attached, provides a proper cure for it...

It must be confessed that in this, as in most other cases, there is a mean, on both sides of which inconveniences will be found to lie. By enlarging too much the number of electors, you render the representatives too little acquainted with all their local circumstances and lesser interests; as by reducing it too much, you render him unduly attached to these, and too little fit to comprehend and pursue great and national objects. The federal Constitution forms a happy combination in this respect; the great and aggregate interests being referred to the national, the local and particular to the State legislatures.

Now, most historians place Federalist #68 at the top of their list for defending the Electoral College. But I believe Madison's #10 strikes at the heart of the concern for factionalism that Hillary Inc. represented, and how the Electoral College helped save us from going off the cliff.

The midterms therefore should serve as a sober reminder that the greatest mitigant against faction is growing the cadre of Deplorables. We can't cure the 12-17% of the crazies who cried when Hillary lost then became hooded Antifa, but we must out there, and red pill friends and neighbors who WANT a better life. We've come so far, and won in 2016 by about 60,000 votes. Time to get to work.
