McDaniel voters still not sold on Hyde-Smith. Here's why.

For the uninitiated, a lot of McDaniel fans feel they got screwed in former Sen. Thad Cochran’s re-election, when the Cochran-Barbour machine in Mississippi worked every conceivable angle to deprive McDaniel—who is regarded as a stauncher conservative but also was accused of racism and may even have appealed to some Mississippi voters as a result of it—of a win.

Subsequently, that same machine let a short time pass, Cochran exited the US Senate, and Hyde-Smith—a former Democrat who also has the backing of the same Mississippi GOP establishment—took his place.

[...]

Not only did Hyde-Smith used to be a Democrat; like her Democratic opponent, she reportedly has some big Clintonworld connections. He was a Cabinet secretary for Bill, by far the more Southerner-friendly of the pair. She, by contrast, has been reported by a McDaniel-friendly publication to have been in business with one “Umesh Sanjanwala, the father of a Hillary Clinton consultant.” (Fun tidbit: The business reportedly used a URL previously used by an occult-oriented firm that offered “services for communicating with the dead”; if you believe this report, Hyde-Smith may have been planning to use it for an online ministry).

The same report also indicates that as a lobbyist, Hyde-Smith worked for the National Coalition on Health Care, which has some pretty lefty members and is supportive of Obamacare—likely a deal-breaker for hardcore McDaniel fans.

The rumor among McDaniel folks is that Hyde-Smith voted for Hillary Clinton in the 2008 Democratic primary, a rumor that is basically reported as fact by this same pro-McDaniel outlet, and one that hasn’t exactly been put to bed by Hyde-Smith and her own comments on the topic.

Exactly. If McDaniel was so great he would have easily beaten this backbencher, RINO, backstabber in the primary. He didn’t.

Maybe the damage that was done to him by the evil backstabbing campaign by the RINO coalition is what prevented him from winning?

They did a lot of damage to Chris McDaniel in Mississippi, and so far as i'm concerned, people ought to have gone to prison for it.

That’s the way to tell ‘em. We need more idiots to vote for Mike Espy and you are doing your part to convince them to do so. A real hero and intellectual giant.

The alternative to Roy Moore was a liberal Democrat and the GOPe had no problem vigorous campaigning for the Democrat. Ironically, this lady was also a Democrat until 2011. So the GOP will be campaigning for a Democrat again! LOL.

When it comes to judges, the GOP has come through big time. The more we have the less likely that Collins, Romney or Mirkowski can hold one up over abortion.

Is this election for a full 6 year term, or only to fill the remaining term of her successor?

She voted for Kavanaugh and supported Collins when she gave her speech in support of him. Espy will not support the President’s judicial nominees.

And does Doug Jones support Trump’s nominees? The GOPe had no problem campaigning for him.

I would vote for her if I were in MS, can’t be as bad as voting for Romney.
She is also fighting for the other side, though.

So you’ll put a Clinton appointee in office for your precious “principles?” What principle do you have that allows the Clinton machine to win a senate seat?

So what you’re saying is that you and your purity couldn’t beat the evil RINO coalition TWICE? Some winners, you guys are!

You are misstating the situation. The RINO groups conduct a massive scorched earth campaign against conservative candidates, and often join forces with the enemy media weapon system to destroy our candidates, and then when one of them is threatened with defeat, they send out an "all hands on deck!" Demanding we support them rather than giving them back exactly what they did to us.

If we let them F*** us over, but do not F*** them over in return, how are we going to stop getting F***ed over?

And we are just passively letting them fall. They are Actively working to destroy our people.

To be honest, a Democrat is often less of a threat. We know they will try to stab us in the front, but with these Rino types, they will always stab you in the back, and usually at the worst possible time.

Which is worse? A McCain or a Democrat?

No one, I mean no one, would be as bad as McCain.

What is it with you NeverTrumpers working to try to lose a Republican Senate seat on Free Republic?

I have never written a word about Hyde-Smith. Get over your paranoia.

it will be good to get this election behind us. at least it will shut up the “molest a teenager” voices, and the “legitimate rape” voices.

And here you are again, spreading that same media lie on another thread. No proof has been put forth, only accusations, but you would rather believe the known liars of the media weapon system, than the people they accuse without proof.

So the choice here is a Clinton appointee and a Hillary Clinton supporter? And you wonder why the wall isn’t built?

Instead of directing your fire at those questioning the sanity of this candidate you should be asking very hard questions of the so-called conservative Republican Party that produced this mess.

I do not know on that detail about the term length.

They have done well on judges, I agree, but now it remains to be seen if the judges actually do well, because one never knows as they can do whatever they want.

Still though they have experienced success on that front.

“I also don’t know much about her GOPe/RINO bonafides, except everyone seems to think she is one.”

Well, she’s “buddies” with Boss Hogg Hayley Barbour, isn’t that enough?

Are you kidding? With RBG at deaths door and Sotomyor right behind her we need every republican we can get. She loses and Mitt, Collins and Merkowski own the senate. If you loved Romney, you’ll love him controlling the senate

The GOP campaigned for a Democrat in Alabama. I see how much they care about RBG and SCOTUS appointments. McConnell and K Street boys are just fine with Murkowski and Collins holding SCOTUS hostage. Don’t put this on grassrots conservatives to pull progressive corportists over the finish line. This is on THEM. Let the GOPe go find some Democrats to elect this lady.

“Joe Blow Republican precinct captain would have won MS by 25 points, or 40.”

She’s in the same league with that useless turd from next door Alabama, Roy Moore!
