Nope, dept of Justice operates independently. The president has no direct control over who DOJ can prosecute. Only power the POTUS has is to fire the AG and name a replacement who must be approved by the senate.

ah yes, no power except the power to fire. so, you do you get it. Remember when presidents fired all the attorneys. That is very powerful So the president is not impotent. Also he can fire the head of the FBI and other agencies. You see all that power?

You forgot your sarc tag or are you that delusional?

Trump IS the executive branch. The big kahuna, the chief executive, the top AG, the commander in chief. He can run it all himself if he wanted to. That’s the reason why we have elections *whew*

On that note, Trump needs to go ahead a fire mueller, rosenstein and gut the entire DOJ. Convene military tribunals and start hanging people for high treason. There’s no time left.
