The cable network made an emergency request so its correspondent could have access to the White House as lawsuit continues.
WASHINGTON—A federal judge granted an emergency motion to restore the White House press credential of CNN correspondent Jim Acosta—a victory for the network in a closely watched press-freedom case.
The lawsuit could determine whether the government can ban individual reporters from public buildings.
District Judge Timothy Kelly, who was appointed to the bench by President Trump, granted CNN’s request for a restraining order temporarily restoring Mr. Acosta’s press access to the White House while the case proceeds.
Lawyers for Mr. Acosta, the network’s chief White House correspondent, argued that the unusual revocation of a reporter’s press pass by the White House last week necessitated emergency action.
Mr. Trump has regularly attacked CNN, and Thursday’s ruling was a setback for the White House. Government lawyers acknowledged in court they knew of no other situation where the White House had revoked a press pass under similar circumstances.
The legal maneuvering was part of a CNN lawsuit alleging that the Trump administration violated Mr. Acosta’s First Amendment right to gather news, as well as his due-process right to challenge a government-imposed punishment. Judge Kelly didn’t rule on the merits of CNN’s overall case.

As I’ve said before if Acosta repeatedly behaved like that on airplanes when fight attendants told him to sit down, he would be personally removed from the planes and eventually banned from flying. If he can’t follow instructions in the most secure public building in the world he deserves to be banned from there too.
Give Sarah an extended Vacay. Hold no press conferences. Screw them all. What’s next? A judge will order the Executive branch to have press conferences?

Put an intern with a mic on each side of the room. Let the intern hold the mic. And only the intern.
That will put an end to the amplified grandstanding.

Sarah should close it down the moment he acts out. Trump should put out a daily podcast in place of doing this sideshow, blaming it all on Acosta.
Agree. Shut press briefing down immediately. Revoke all press hard passes until full scale FBI background checks are completed for those wishing to have a hard pass going forward.

I would move the press room across the street to some other office space. I would also not hold press conferences until the Supreme court can hear the case. We the public will not stand for the Press abusing our favorite President.
That's really interesting... like others have said... where's my press pass?
Nothing says that Trump or Sanders needs to call on him.
