Fox News host Laura Ingraham is transitioning her nationally-syndicated radio show that launched more than 17 years ago into a podcast, according to a Wednesday announcement.
Ingraham, who was also awarded a prime-time program on Fox News in Oct. 2017, will launch "The Laura Ingraham Show" in January on PodcastOne, which dubs itself the nations leading advertiser-supported podcast network.
Due to her HUGE success on the Fox News channel, daily podcasts are a much better fit for Lauras hectic schedule and provides her listeners in all markets access at any time to the new Laura Ingraham Show podcast," says PodcastOne Founder Norm Pattiz in an announcement. "Shes at the top of her game and her new original podcasts will fit perfectly on PodcastOne."

Speaking of too many ads, I observed something interesting a few weeks ago. I was watching some old Twilight Zones on Amazon Prime. Each episode was 26 mins long, which means there was only 4 mins of ad time allotted per a 30 min show. The same observation held for other older shows I'm watching.
Nice review of her show.
My local station used to have Neal Boortz and then Laura Ingraham replaced him. She couldn’t hold a candle to Boortz.
She has become terribly SNARKY....especially against Trump! And she ruined her face by getting duck lips!!
LOL!!! How some as smart as Medved is, how does he really believe in BIGFOOT?? Loch Ness Monster is more believable!
Did you know Obama is a natural born citizen? Just ask Medved (and Hewitt). IF they will even let you on the air.
Bill Bennett was replaced by Hugh Hewitt (ugh) around the time of Nov 2016, IIRC. Bennett was very listenable, & fair to Trump. The young people who worked with him would talk about the Trump rallies, and how there was incredible energy there. He was more than fair to Trump actually It was refreshing. Then, they replaced him with Hewitt...
You are right. Arrogant dumbasses.
Technology is giving more and more choices.
I have unlimited data on my Sprint phone account.
With Youtube, periscope, Sirius XM, and have more hours of content, than I have time or interest for.
I agree. There are some great podcasts, but they lack the immediacy of live radio. It’s just that simple. In Laura Ingraham’s case, it’s probably a desire to reduce her workload. With a mid-morning radio show and a late-evening TV program, she’s probably up/prepping before 5 am, plus she has to get her kids off to school. She obviously has staff to help at work and at home, but it still adds up to a long workday.
Also guessing she can afford to take a pay cut on the radio/podcasting side, now that her TV show is a big success. A lot of talk radio contracts are heavy on incentives. Laura’s program aired on a lot of smaller stations, and on a tape-delay basis. Very likely that she wasn’t making as much on the incentive end as Rush or Sean Hannity. So, with a seven-figure income stream from Fox, it was easy to go podcast on the audio side, tape it on a more convenient schedule and focus on the TV show.
There is still plenty of room for new talent in talk radio. There’s no doubt the AM band is hurting (Rush probably saved it from extinction 30 years ago), but stations that execute the format correctly still make money. And rest assured, stations losing Laura Ingraham are already being pitched on potential replacements.
#21 How Many Minutes of Commercials Are Shown in an Average TV Hour? The Number Has Been Steadily Climbing

I noted that during the World Series, Fox started sneaking in ads between at-bats.
Football I’m sure will start doing the same in between plays.
They already are in side-by-side windows....and to make matters worse they introduce them by mentioning the sponsor.
NFL games long ago crossed the threshold of unwatchable in real time.
Related thread and article here re: Laura Ingraham ending her radio show.
Exactly. I just cannot see how listening to some days' old podcast is as exciting and relevant as listing to LIVE radio.
Reviving an old thread to note that Ingraham’s podcast has died on the vine without comment, update, info, reason or explanation from her.
The easy assumption is it was too much work and/or not financially feasible. Podcast sponsorship is fairly meager in terms of available advertisers and rates.
As feared, the podcast was a mere shadow of the rollicking radio show which lampooned the eminently lampoonable DC stuffed-shirt brigade.
Instead, the podcast focused on Laura’s pet themes (border/immigration and Christian charities/outreach). The impeachment farce gave it a bit of steam with the always vital Joe DiGenova but for the most part it was a rather small rota of guests (Pat Buchanan, Newt Gingrich, Bill Donohue, Bill O’Reilly) who were fairly entertaining but quite predictable and repetitive.
All involved seem to pull their punches which is crazy given that the podcast format frees one from concerns about affiliates etc.
On one hand I’m sorry it’s gone as I rarely watch her show or any Fox show now...on the other hand it was a haphazard, unfocused product probably better off finished.
