A new documentary series offers an emotional look behind the mask of someone who has stood stoic in the public eye for decades. In the A&E series, "The Clinton Affair," Monica Lewinsky is more forthright than she's been in years about her relationship with former President Bill Clinton.
In the A&E series, which premieres this Sunday, Lewinsky talks about the highs of her time at the White House. At one point she describes how she felt being called in by Clinton, "I don't think my heart had ever beat as fast."
And the lowest of lows, when she was confronted by FBI agents about the affair.
"I remember looking out the window and thinking the only way to fix this was to kill myself, was to jump out the window….I just I was mortified and afraid of what this was going to do to my family," she said.
Lewinsky, for her part, is focused on healing from the memories of that traumatic time.
"However wrong it was, however misguided, for who I was in that very moment at 22 years old. That was how it felt," Lewinsky said.

Like the one on Bill’s head after Hillary threw a lamp at him?
The wake left behind the Clinton’s crusade through the political landscape is strewn with dead bodies and ruined lives. The numbers of families left in ruin dwarfs the handful of fellow criminals and scoundrels who have prospered from associating with them.
They should title this whole affair the ‘Humidor Saga.’ Or maybe, ‘I was a human humidor.’
She should go on tour with Hillary, neither one can let go of the past.
OK, well, A&E is owned by CBS, so for CBS News to wring it’s hands over this is an exercise in mental masturbation (to coin a phrase).
They caught a guy named Cooper who confessed to the three murders with a motive of robbery.
Monica’s life has been irreparably damaged by the Clintons.
The first one to blame is Bernie Lewinski. He failed to protect his daughter and demand Clinton leave office. Had Bernie defended his daughter, her life would not be the disaster that it has become.
Un-married because she is unmarriageable because of Bill Clinton and his predatory behavior to have her fellate him in the Oval Office.
Again and again.
Seems like these wound openings always seem to coincide with a Hillary presidential run.
