The night before the midterm elections, House Speaker Paul Ryan touted “tax reform 2.0,” the economy, and the rebuilding of the United States military as the agenda accomplishments of the Republican-controlled Congress.

“Frankly, our members feel pretty good because they have a really good message … I mean look at what we’ve just been able to achieve in Congress with the President in the last two years,” Ryan told Fox News’ Bret Baier. “A record economy, the military being rebuilt, people feeling better about things … wages growing faster than they have since before the recession.”

The accomplishments of the GOP Congress, though, have been slim with Ryan in charge.

I'll bet most of the people who were affected by the cap on the SALT deduction still got a tax cut. That was certainly the case in my state, where something like 90% of the taxpayers came out ahead even though the Democrats insisted we were getting screwed.

What they never mentioned was that the vast majority of high-income taxpayers already lost the SALT deduction because they were in the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) bracket where those deductions were eliminated.

One of the provisions of the 2017 tax bill was the elimination of the AMT.

Assuming my income and deductions remain the same, my tax goes up $3800.

And there was no Republican on my ballot for House or Senate.

The biggest problem the GOP faces is Democratic VOTER FRAUD at each and every level of politics in these United States.

(There is nothing democratic about voter fraud.)

“You’re ignorance is showing.”

ROTFLMAO! Your ignorance is showing, Mariner. My gawd, Mariner must be a public-school indoctrinated.

He, makes my point.

You’ll be right there with Georgia (quite close already, hardly a dime’s worth of difference currently), by this time next year. And, you’re still bilking the American taxpayers, since SALT in not fully eliminated:

https://twitter.com/LAO_CA/status/821842152841850881

It gets worse, too, for California - the crooked state. But I wouldn’t expect Leftists to really care, as long as they can spout fallacy:

California has enrolled hundreds of thousands of ineligible adults in Medicaid. Consequently, the state has bilked the federal government out of more than $1 billion in funding to which the state was not entitled.

https://spectator.org/california-commits-massive-medicaid-fraud/

Don’t delude yourself. I’ll continue to set the record straight:

California cost the American taxpayer $23 Billion/yr for illegal aliens.

Georgia’s illegal aliens cost the American taxpayer $2.4 Billion/yr.

CA’s a magnitude of 10 higher in costs.

On United States Taxpayers (2017)

An educated person knows that the southern “red states” haven’t been red for all that long...they were blue Jim Crow states and that kind of oppression doesn’t wear off over night. We have a lot of people in poverty. Of course, we’ll excuse Democrat talking points spouters for their ignorance on this fact as they sit in the most communist states in the union and pretend that somehow they’re better than red state people less fortunate than themselves...i.e. the poverty stricken minorities.

Yeah, the haughtiness of the uneducated will disappear quite soon, as the increase in poverty rises in their states and they’ll be more than willing (as your state is already beginning to do, Mariner) to turn to the Federal government for a bail out. Got that dam fixed yet?

California is quickly becoming a cesspool of decadence. Their irresponsible tax policies and criminal theft of taxpayer funds to be used for illegal aliens is disgusting.

The average California SALT deduction of $17,148.35 is only reduced. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ! A baby step in the right direction.

Yeah, California is one hurting state, just who is going to bail them out?

https://howmuch.net/articles/the-united-states-of-debt

It is going to get so much worse, before it ever gets better, if it ever does.

Thank God Georgia hasn’t counted that much on the federal government. Of course, that will change if we go blue.

All those Leftist Californians and Northerners and Northeasterners moving here with their vile Marxism errors, it should be long before we do go blue...maybe even a few days, sad to say.

Here’s an interesting note on whether California is a “donor state,” or rather how much of a donor state it really is (remember California is a huge deficit state at ~$250 BILLION):

“It is important to note that the Tax Foundation figure is adjusted to be deficit neutral so that the federal government receives $1 in taxes for each $1 it spends. To do this, the Tax Foundation increases its estimate of tax revenues from each state in proportion to the total federal deficit. In effect, this inflates the estimated amount Californians “pay” in taxes.”

Whatever you do, stay in California, so I can always say I subsidize YOUR state. ROTFLMAO!

If you actually learn the facts, you would not appear to be willfully ignorant.

Here, I’ll make it easier for you, so you don’t have to comprehend too much of what you would have to read:

“It is important to note that the Tax Foundation figure is adjusted to be deficit neutral so that the federal government receives $1 in taxes for each $1 it spends. To do this, the Tax Foundation increases its estimate of tax revenues from each state in proportion to the total federal deficit. In effect, this inflates the estimated amount Californians “pay” in taxes.”

Except CA pays more in Federal Taxes, in real non-adjusted terms, than it receives in real expenditures.

Unlike Georgia.

And then there’s this, from the paragraph just below the one you like to cite:

“Nonetheless, relative to other states, California certainly receives less in federal funding compared to what it pays. Among fifty states, California ranked 41st on the Tax Foundation’s measure, similar to the ranking in the New York Comptroller study. This is mostly because California, with its high population of high-income earners, pays more in federal taxes per person. For example, according to the Tax Foundation study, California paid $8,028 per person in federal taxes, ranking the state 9th on this measure. Coupled with low per-person expenditures, California receives less in federal expenditures compared to what it pays in federal taxes relative to other states.”

If you weren’t so indoctrinated, you would notice, CA and GA are nearly identical. But, you go ahead and delude yourself to make yourself feel good about yourself. Because we all know that’s what’s most important to a Leftist. To feel good about themselves. If it takes lies to do that, truth be famned.
