Alert: Democrat Tony Evers elected Wisconsin governor, denying Republican Scott Walker a third term - @AP

Neither possible outcome of this race was any good.
Yep! We here in WI love the idea of going back to the good times under Former Governor Doyle when taxes were high and the state was nearly bankrupt. Evers has promised to take us back to those thrilling times of allowing the Teachers Unions to own the state by controlling property tax rates. not to mention the perennial favorite here of his promise to run manufactures and farmers out of the state. One of the Evers best promises (that even Doyle did not make) was to raise the gas tax by a whole dollar! Why even California (where a lot of Ever’s money came from) will envy us!
We are so glad you don’t live here having to endure lowered property taxes, new roads, good and affordable state health care, extremely low unemployment, more jobs than people to work, among the many horrors that Not Never Trumper Walker brought us. Now you can move into this newly created hell hole and into the homes we will be forced to sell. Thanks for your support!
Bald faced lying back stabbers can appear very friendly and congenial.

Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan come to mind.
Normally, yet. But what he suffered, finally breaking the corrupt public unions/state government cabal, should earn him another term or two.
Seriously. That fight was extremely ugly!
Evers can do a lot; it only take one or two votes to get something horrific passed sometimes.
Remember that the Republican Party HQ is in Madison. The HQ people are completely out of touch with the rest of the state, having refused to actually fight for Walker - as there might be a bad story in the newspapers which would cast them personally in a bad light and they would not get invited to the best parties. Ironically, the man who heads the party HQ was appointed by Walker.
Say goodby to Act 10, low property taxes, high home values, manufacturing and farm jobs, lower State income tax. Say hello to Taxn’ Tony and his mentor Jim Doyle ...
The deep state employees certainly will be seeking payback. It won’t happen overnight, but the future of School Choice is unclear, as well as a host of other Walker reforms. I am sure the folks in Madistan are happy to finally stick it to the hicks outside of Dane County once again.
The people on the dole won. Dole meaning all gubmint hand outs including career bureaucrats.
Not surprised. Walker was too close to ryno Ryan and alienated trump voters.
How do you think Reince Preibus feels this AM? He engineered Wisconsin going to the GOP.
Welcome to America. When times are bad the voters turn to the GOP to fix things. When they do and things are going well, the voters promptly turn things back over to the party that made the mess in the first place.
I am sorry for the conservatives of Wisconsin this morning. Scott Walker was a great governor for you guys.
I am quite surprised to see several cheering his loss against a Democrat. I have never been a never Trumper but who has the purity test here? According to some you cant face Trump in a presidential bid, say not so kind things, and never again be in their good graces. The fact that two years on people are still bitter at those that contested Trump is pretty pathetic. Trump got over it, so should you. Only in this crazy mindset could Walker be considered a Rino. Bizarre.
He has not conceded.
“wait till the end and dump enough found votes to get out of recount territory.”
Paging the ghost of LBJ, paging the ghost of LBJ !
I am becoming more and more convinced that we have NPCs on our side too. Feed them a stimulus and out spouts a script.
For example - Walker lost. Walker is from Wisconsin. Isn’t Ryan from Wisconsin? Ryan-man bad. I think he is a Never Trumper. That must mean Walker-man bad. I’m glad he lost. Bye, Walker. Walker-man bad! Hey! Wait a minute! Isn’t Preibus from Wisconsin, too? We are supposed to hate Preibus, too! That really means Walker-man bad! :^|
Just in case this is being said out of ignorance, instead of NPCism, it is arguable that Walker is the most conservative governor in the country, and certainly has advanced the most conservative practices and moved the state in a more conservative direction than any other governor. Maybe in history.
While I love having a larger tent, it worries me that we seem to have so many that are emotionally based and not intellectually based. That kind of support is too shallow. Maybe that is what I am detecting that looks like NPCism.
Sigh.
Well, some have already given you names, but I'll give you one more: Kobach in KS. I'm on a Wednesday morning prayer call and one of the guys is from KS...so I asked him..."what happened?!?" He explained it was a neverTrump vote. Everyone on our call is about as pro-Trump as most people on this board, as is my friend, but we can spot a never-Trumper.
He explained it was two things: Trump isn't widely popular with the farmers because of the tariffs and Brownback didn't leave a good legacy because of fiscal policy....but it was primarily that Kobach was solidly a pro-Trump guy. Same thing happened in IA.
If Ryan had done his job, many races would have had a different outcome.
I still think he and key GOP Senators sat on the FISA investigation to save their own futures.
I don’t think it has anything to do with Trump or Ryan. I think it has to do with the fact that he’s been there eight years and voters were simply ready for a change. It’s hard to ask people who are for limited government to set a politician up for life on a “public servant” job or even for 12 years.
