Florida Early Vote update, 11/06/2018

Totals for Florida early vote.

Absentee Ballot (VBM) - REPs lead by 63,496

In-Person Early Voting - DEMs lead by 85,849

Combined Early voting - DEMs lead by 22,353

At this same time in 2016: DEMs lead of 96,450

Numbers represent ballots cast by party registration.

Ballots have not been counted yet.

Amendment #2: Yes

Amendment #3: No

Amendment #4 No (Allowing democrat felons to vote)

Amendment #5 Yes (2/3 majority for tax increases).

Amendment #6: No

Amendment #7: No

Amendment #9: No

Amendment #10: No

Amendment #11: No

Amendment #12: Yes (ban on lobbyists) Amendment #13: No (ban on dog racing)

DeSantis will win by a larger margin than Scott. Nelson has the power of incumbency and an increased black turnout due to Gillum.

DeSantis will be more of the beneficiary of a split ticket due to the Wilder/Bradley effect. And Gillum is no Obama when it comes to his pedigree and charisma. The shady dealings of Gillum will sink him.

Ravi, time for your prediction.

I think LS has Scott 3-4%, DeSantis 1-2%

I’m at Scott by 2.0%, DeSantis by 0.5%

I don’t do predictions anymore. Just let the data speak for itself. I got badly burned in 2012 in FL, OH and one other state. Now I just wait.

By comparison to 2016 (% of votes cast by party in Brevard County):

REPs - 42%
DEMs - 31.8%
NP - 22.5%

So far 2018:

REPs - 47.4%
DEMs - 33.2%
NP - 18.5%

64.5% of Registered R voters in Collier county, FL (Red) have now cast a ballot.
