Dragging into its fourth week, all signs are on that the migrant caravan is falling apart.
According to the Associated Press:
ISLA, Mexico – A 4,000-strong caravan of Central American migrants traveling through Mexico split up into several groups with one spending the night in a town in the coastal state of Veracruz and other migrants continuing toward the country's capital.
The divisions came during a tense day in which tempers flared and some migrants argued with caravan organizers and criticized Mexican officials.
How did it happen? Obviously, someone promised them something for free and then didn't pay up. This is about what you'd expect when someone offers something for free, and then realizes that the whole thing is not going to pay off in the politically useful way he wanted.
Whether it was Venezuelan or Sorosian or Mexican, the free cash for a free ride to the border and all the free stuff of the U.S. just never materialized. That has raised questions about why the group should stay together instead of split apart. After all, anyone can apply for asylum to the states on his own. Applying in a 4,000-strong group pretty well means a long wait time.
A promised bus ride to Mexico City for thousands of migrants from Central America was the latest money that never materialized. Mexico's Veracruz governor, anxious to get the migrants out of his home state as soon as possible, promised them all free bus rides to Mexico City and then withdrew the offer, likely because Mexico City didn't want to take them. Federal authorities there warned the Veracruz governor he'd be charged with human-trafficking if his free bus rides rolled out to the Mexican capital. Obviously, Mexico City does not see itself as having much to gain politically from the big migrant caravan

Here’s the big thing that is probably breaking up the migrant caravan more than anything: President Trump’s resolve to rule of law. He’s sent troops. He’s sent reinforcements. He’s thrown up the razor wire. He’s warned them they will not be treated at all differently from all the other people asking for asylum, and they will have to wait their turn in line. What’s more, if they get into the U.S., there won’t be the freedom to do what they want, no catch and release, because they will have to wait in tent cities for their cases to be adjudicated, same as other people. The two- to three-year period of working in the states and going home to Honduras with money after the final deportation order isn’t going to be there anymore. For quite a few of them, news reports suggested that all they wanted was that two- to three-year period to work, either legally or illegally, and they’d go home happy with the money.
Trump also put pressure on Mexico to encourage it to keep its immigration system regular, something it did with spotty results, but news reports do say the caravans are getting smaller, and Mexico is insisting on passports for passage through.
Bottom line: There’s less and less advantage to being in the caravan, no special privileges, and more and more advantage to immigrating legally.
Some enterprising prosecutor ought to look into charging the US financiers of this caravan with human trafficking. What is the difference between some US billionaire funding illegal migration to the US and some "coyote" doing it?
Ping.
Capabilities..? Meh.
Never thought I’d say that, but there it is.
POLITICAL **WILL**...?
That is PARAMOUNT.
And DJT has it. And everyone now knows it.
Trump IS the wall.
We should have had a President like this in 1988, instead we had a Bush.
We would not have 30 + million illegal aliens.
For quite a few of them, news reports suggested that all they wanted was that two- to three-year period to work, either legally or illegally, and theyd go home happy with the money.
Yep, all they wanted. Now they see a year or more in a militarily-guarded border tent camp for processing. And they dont like that.
Guess they dont much like rules, eh? Guess they just wanted our money, eh? Guess they didnt want to actually become Americans, eh?
“What is the difference between some US billionaire funding illegal migration to the US and some ‘coyote’ doing it?”
*BUMP* Exactly!
Trump getting ‘er done bump!
Shep Smith said in a soundbite I heard replayed: “Last April only 14 were arrested out of all the supposed hordes. Fourteen! This time you again have nothing to worry about, Americans. Go to bed and sleep soundly tonight. The caravan is not going to come over here and hurt you. It may only be a few dozen left at the end and they’ll go back in despair.”
Now if Trump wins by stopping them Shep will gloat see he told us so. If not, there could be bloodshed by mistake or by agitators setting it up by plan. Then that will make the Time Magazine front cover composite of a bloody teddy bear and a glowering American soldier standing above it. And Trump’s War on Other Races Reaches Violent Threshold. Sick.
“caravan organizers”
Care to elaborate?
“Breaking up” = Multiple groups ILLEGALLY entering USA at multiple locations where there is no barb wire.
p
With the military down at the boarder it is a good time to work on getting the Cartel/drug smugglers.
It ties into his reduce the Heroin promises.
Your estimate for illegals is probably half of the real figure.
You’re dreaming if you think this is how it’s going to work.
All along this route it’s bee all about side stepping every block, every offer for asylum etc. to reach their goal of getting HERE. They are more than willing to ‘wait’ in tents and have stated so....until they have traffickers take them over.
This will be done on their terms because they have no regard for the laws.....they will sidestep anything and everything....as they have shown all along..and for decades. It’s not going to change because new laws appear.....they just see these as another hurdle to jump over.
boarder = border
Bush figured Americans could pay for all the social welfare and his Blue Blood RINO friends would get their cheap labor - Bush sold us out, plain and simple.
