I watch the video and the spokesman statement that “border security is a law-enforcement responsibility” is pure stupidity. Border security defending the United States border is a military responsibility and DHS needs to be booted from the border and reorganized and the Border Security division. dissolved. DHS and the Border Patrol have failed and The bureaucrats within that useless department are actively scheming to fail again.
Maybe a couple of fences with space in between, patrolled by rams.

I don’t think we are doing enough. While 5000 additional troops can be beneficial, they will be limited to support duties. Our southern border need to be secured and if need be closed until it has been secured. I hope that we have a contingency because I suspect that they will just charge the border like they did at Mexico’s Southern Boarder.

Trump could stop this NOW without firing a shot.
He needs to do 2 things.
1) Close the US-Mexico border to ALL traffic (including commercial traffic). Only US Citizens with passports will be allowed to enter on-foot.
2) Suspend ALL wire transfers of money to Mexico.
Once the Mexican elites feel us standing on their economic air hose, the caravan will be turned around.
Either that or someone from CNN will.

Useless overkill, a dozen snipers with couple of platoons with 50-cal machine guns could take care of the problem. Let Mexico take care of the dead and wounded.

Although seemingly unrelated, I think the way Trump handled the FISA docs caused a lot of consternation. He promised “immediate declassification” and then quickly back tracked under pressure from Rod Rosenstein and our allies. Many of Trump’s supporters viewed this as Trump putting them ahead of us. We never saw the FISA docs and probably never will. They were dumped off onto Horowitz and into the black hole of the bureaucracy. No matter how you slice it, this hurt Trump’s credibility.
It also bothers a lot of people that Rod Rosenstein is still in his job and even praised by Trump despite his refusal to cooperate with the U.S. congress and his obvious lying. If there’s anyone in the country who deserves to be fired it is Rod Rosenstein.
And now why is Mexico being treated with kid gloves? We should be imposing the strongest sanctions possible on them for allowing the caravan to use Mexican roads as their pathway to the United States. Heck, Mexico is basically ignoring us.
And you wonder why there are negative/skeptical comments?
Any ladder sales should be purchased by the truckload and taken inside the border an disposed of.
