BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - A father fatally shot a masked man Saturday who opened fire inside a McDonald’s restaurant, police said.
The father and his sons were leaving the restaurant as the masked man walked in and started shooting, WBRC reported.
The father then started firing at the masked man. It is unclear if the man was targeting someone at the restaurant or attempting to rob it, WBRC reported.
The father and one of his children were struck in the hail of bullets. The father had life-threatening injuries, WBRC reported. The child is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the father, who has not been identified, will not be charged, WBRC reported.

This man received life threatening wounds and still went ahead and eliminated the shooter before he killed who knows how many more? That is a hero.
I’ve been to that McDs many times during the day, drive thru only! I would not be in that area at night well armed with body armor!

I'm only two years behind you and I had a .22 when I was even younger. All the kids in my neighborhood did. We had BB guns before 1st grade. We lived in a rural area then, which today is almost part of the city. We would wander around in the woods all day shooting at this or that.
If anyone so much as saw a youngster walking around with a BB gun these days, the SWAT team would be there in minutes, blocking off streets, and setting up a mobile command post, with a helicopter overhead.

I had to stay there for 3+ months and drive around all day from 07:00 - 17:30 6 days a week with a guy in the back seat doing Cell Tower Testing with 9 different phones sending big and small Data Packets.
