Experts Question Whether Bombs Sent to Prominent Democrats Were Fake
The Mental Recession ^ | OCTOBER 26, 2018 | RUSTY WEISS

Multiple outlets are reporting that federal sources and bomb technicians are exploring the possibility that explosive devices sent to prominent Democrats were fakes.

While various media entities scoffed at the notion that such an elaborate mail bombing campaign could have been a hoax, other experts are indeed exploring the possibility.

New York Magazine called the skepticism “counter-intuitive” conspiracies and “mad ravings.”

If so, those ‘mad ravings’ have since extended to an Emmy winning news correspondent and such revered mainstream outlets as the New York Times.

Somehow, some way, CNN was able to, in the midst of a massive federal investigation, tweet out a picture of the bomb they received in their New York headquarters.

The image raised a ton of questions – why were they able to share this when the incident was still being investigated? Why were there no USPS markings on the envelope if it had been delivered? Were the return addresses and faux ISIS sticker a means to throw law enforcement off the trail or were they clues?

More importantly, it raised questions for bomb experts.

Fed Source Say Bombs Looked Fake

Adam Housley, a senior news correspondent with Fox News and Emmy award-winning regional reporter, cites a federal source who saw the device or devices and labeled them “complete hoaxes.”

They still haven’t said what was inside the so called Bombs.

They were very vague. What is so complicated about saying Gunpowder? I guess because there was no Gunpowder inside.

If you smashed one of those with a sledgehammer it might explode (but probably not). Alternatively you could heat it in a fire and it might explode to some extent, but probably more like a luminous firework than an exploding firework.

The brave CNN staff pulled out the silk flag that said “Boom!” before they took the picture.

And dared to watch the seconds suspensefully count down except the clock had no timer alarm to set off a bomb.

What courage.

I wonder if Shep rolled up his sleeves and said “Everybody out of this room now. I will take all the risk and I don’t want anybody to get blown up with me if I set if off. Now scram.” Wolf Blitzer was hiding behind the women, on his hands and knees but was pulled out of the room when they evacuated.

Let the left and deep state live in their fake world. We are building and living in the real world.

You can sell these as is, on Ebay, as props. Have about as much explosive potential as a cell phone.

Good one. Run ! A pipe clock ! Good thing they were not explosive. The way the USPS handles them, we might have lost some postal workers. Thought they improved things since the last mail bombing campaign ?

If they could have blown, some would have blown. Especially the way they were made and delivered.

I would’ve thought that the chain of delivery would’ve been stopped before the post office delivered more of the packages.

All you need is two rogue undercover FBI Agents to friend this guy, they talk him into the crime and tell him how to do it so he never gets caught.
Remember this guys a few crayons short of a full box. All the sudden he’s got two new buddies who help convince him he’s the guy to do it and have him make these dud bombs and they also happen to have the addresses for him too!!!!
How convenient huh?... just sayin...

Yeah. Very good point. Think during the last one, cannot remember when, but yeah, it caused all kinds of problems. Actually think that was the anthrax sent in letters. If these were real and had any chance of exploding, all mail service would have been stopped. Bomb sniffing dogs would have been seen going into postal offices. Etc.

I think the “news” is biased. Sure, lots of things could blow. Like sending hairspray and a pack of matches.

If there is no explosive material in the pipe, and no detonator, what crime is he guilty of? Mailing a piece of pipe and a clock to a politician?

Think they added some laws after there were fake anthrax letters sent. Following the real anthrax mail attack. So they made it just as bad I think from a legal point of view. Or almost as bad.

If something doesn’t have a functioning detonator, it’s not a real bomb.

I certainly do not agree -- the mere lack of a detonator would not make me think a mass of explosives and nails mailed to my house was not a bomb.

But, oddly enough, the Federal Government took a position very like that, before the United States Supreme Court no less. In United States v. Western Pacific R. Co., 352 U.S. 59 (1956) the Feds argued that napalm bombs, without detonators and bursting charges, were merely barrels of gasoline, for which railroads were paid a low rate for transporting, and not incendiary bombs, for which railroads received a much higher freight rate.

“energetic material” - take a handful of all purpose flour, fling it into the air to make a “cloud” of flour. Throw a lit match into said cloud. Do this outside as it will be a little energetic.

Yeah, energetic material proves terrorism right there. The dude should have just used an old fashioned gun like the leftie who shot the republicans at the ball field. That was never considered terror.

I want to know how obviously bulky packages were just dropped off at a postal kiosk with clearly insufficient postage, addressed to prominent political figures and apparently none were noticed by postal workers. There is no cancellation of the stamps. Equally bizarre is how most of these packages sent to different states all seemed to arrive at about the same time on a single day and were just sent by regular mail. That’s not typical in any experience I have had with the USPS. CNN staff apparently opened the package and took photos of the “bomb”. That’s not a normal reaction to a potentially live bomb unless you knew in advance the bomb was fake. This whole thing smells and the bomber could still be just a patsy.
