Experts Question Whether Bombs Sent to Prominent Democrats Were Fake
The Mental Recession ^ | OCTOBER 26, 2018 | RUSTY WEISS

Multiple outlets are reporting that federal sources and bomb technicians are exploring the possibility that explosive devices sent to prominent Democrats were fakes.

While various media entities scoffed at the notion that such an elaborate mail bombing campaign could have been a hoax, other experts are indeed exploring the possibility.

New York Magazine called the skepticism “counter-intuitive” conspiracies and “mad ravings.”

If so, those ‘mad ravings’ have since extended to an Emmy winning news correspondent and such revered mainstream outlets as the New York Times.

Somehow, some way, CNN was able to, in the midst of a massive federal investigation, tweet out a picture of the bomb they received in their New York headquarters.

The image raised a ton of questions – why were they able to share this when the incident was still being investigated? Why were there no USPS markings on the envelope if it had been delivered? Were the return addresses and faux ISIS sticker a means to throw law enforcement off the trail or were they clues?

More importantly, it raised questions for bomb experts.

Fed Source Say Bombs Looked Fake

Adam Housley, a senior news correspondent with Fox News and Emmy award-winning regional reporter, cites a federal source who saw the device or devices and labeled them “complete hoaxes.”

Whether or not it was an actual explosive device is not a matter of opinion, political correctness or political talking point.

It is an issue of fact.

And, missing both a detonator to initiate the explosion or, from all that I can tell, the lack of an actual explosive "main charge" [rumors are that it was sulfur powder- which is not an explosive], and further having a clock that has no alarm function to switch power to detonate the detonator, and further having no stored electrical energy (battery or capacitive discharge system) to be switched by the non-existent, the facts appear to be that this was utterly and totally a hoax, e.g. a fake bomb.

Calling it a real bomb is like calling a pistol shaped piece of wood with a hole bored out in the fake muzzle and filled with ground black-pepper a real handgun. It's still fake even if I pack the fake black powder with bird-shot.

“If those bombs were real, someone at CNN put their life at risk to take a photo of one.”

Maybe he photographed it right after he made it.

You’d think the FBI would know if they’re fake by now......

No, there was no trigger. There was a digital clock taped to the tube with wires running to it, but the 4chan guys figured out which model the clock was and it turns out not to have an alarm function which means it probably couldn’t have been used as a trigger. It was just there for appearance sake. To me the bombs come off as an almost comical parody of the real thing. He even put a sticker on them that reads “git ‘er done”. Pretty obvious that he was trying to scare people, not hurt or kill people.

Those ‘bombs’ were never meant to detonate.

Without an explosive compound or a detonator, intent is almost meaningless. It's like looking for intent to murder in someone who attacked someone with a foam swimming pool noodle.

I keep hearing the TV guys saying they contained black powder. If this idiot handled this much black power he is lucky he didn’t blow himself up. Black powder is quite volatile. Just a spark from static electricity and it ignites all at once.

Sounds right. The FBI is not observing the fake-bomber's right to self-expression. :)

One question, if they were real, why did none of the 11 sent go off? I, too, do not believe they were real.

Is there any gun powder in there. They don’t seem to want to tell us.

It was described as “energetic material that can become combustible when subjected to heat or friction”.

Might be a fancy way of describing paper or sawdust.

I keep hearing the TV guys saying they contained black powder.

Well if that is the case, the guy is an idiot because he will be charged with all kinds of mail violations and reckless endangerment.

Although it's irrelevant since 12 counts of bomb hoax will put the guy away for a long long time anyway.

Could the FBI be part of setting up a patsy? I hope to God no. But everything is just so over board. Just look how quickly they got this guy. And the van? Come on. The guy is a walking stereotype.

The FBI likely sold this nutcase the Wile E Coyote Acme Fake Bomb kit after talking him into committing the crime.

If they said they were fake that might influence the election. Pretty clever those criminals are.

I think this is a desensitization play on a deep state Trump attack, blaming Trump for his own hit.

That's disturbing.

"FBI be part of setting up a pastsy?"

Think back to the Olympic bombing in Atlanta. The FBI tried to frame Richard Jewell by asking him to be part of a "Training Demonstration".

This could be the same type of frame up for a Training Op.
