Poll: DeSantis Takes Lead Over Gillum in Florida Gubernatorial Race
Newsmax ^ | 25 Oct 2018

Barely two days after Democrat Andrew Gillum was leading in most polls for governor of Florida, a Strategic Research Associates poll conducted for Gray Television and released Wednesday showed Republican and former Rep. Ron DeSantis pulling into the lead, 48 to 45 percent.

The margin of error was +/-3.46 percent. The poll is the first since the primaries last month to put the conservative DeSantis ahead of Bernie Sanders supporter Gillum.

Virtually every expert who spoke to Newsmax agreed that Gillun was damaged by recent revelations Gillun had misstated that he reimbursed a lobbyist for a ticket to the Broadway show “Hamilton.” Subsequent reports indicated when he actually received it from an FBI agent posing as a real estate developer while the Tallahassee mayor was in New York.

During a stormy debate with DeSantis last week, Gillum described himself as “hard-working” and insisted he had received the ticket from his brother. The latest stories would seem to indicate something else.

DeSantis has been a strong backer of President Trump in Congress and the President campaigned for him even before the primary. Gillun says flatly Trump should be impeached.

That’s exactly where he needs to be. And a few days before that too.

Before he goes to Michigan, I predict he'll be in Minnesota election eve. I believe Trump regretted that he didn't do that on election eve, 2016. And he lost by a small margin in MN in.

I did not think it was possible a few months ago, BUT, if James wins then It is very possible we could have 60 senate seats AND if we win by that margin there is no way we lose the house.

Gillum is as slimy and dirty as they come. Has a ‘slick’ tongue too. Reminds me of nobama: lots of hat, little cattle.

“I just saw that-Rollins made it sound like DeSantis is a goner.”

Rollins definitely comes across as a Debbie Downer.

Actually it is still possible we lose the house. I’ve been look closer at state data, there’s actually a Red wave in flyover country, and Blue wave on coastal states.

GOP Congressmen in NJ, VA, NY, parts of PA will get hit with a Blue wave.

Red wave forming in IN, MI, FL, GA, OH and elsewhere in flyover country.

All this based on early voting, could change, but I think those are the trends.

I did not have an opportunity to see the debate last night.

My main takeaway from the debate is that the moderator made sure he asked DeSantis the tough questions and only tossed softball questions at Gillum.

Not surprising as the Florida News Media is all-in for Gillum.

Floridians know the deceptive media is against anything that Trump supports.

DeSantis wins by 5 points on Nov 6.

They established Gillum’s lead as so substantial that only fraud of some sort could result in Desantis’ win. All of these polls are pulling back in towards normal now that the election is nearing so they can at least say they predicted the “movement” which was happening before the election. This crap is getting old.

I damn sure hope you’re right! I have my suspicions (all along) that we would keep both Houses. I mean, whom the bloody hell would put that train wreck of a Party in charge of anything more than a popsicle stand is beyond me. But seeing how I had lost all hope for this country for the first time in my life until 2016, I still have my concerns that some of the electorate could still go full retard again.

The tickets are a small part, but represent corruption. DeSantis is hitting Gillum on the issues as well.

No, you don’t pick up Senate seats and lose the House. No way the Democrats flip 23 Republican seats.

Ed Rollins is the sorriest excuse for a campaign advisor on the face of the planet.

He was in, Christie Whitman, New Jersey Governor’s election and he was nothing but trouble. He is a sour puss, a downer, a person who believes in the “old” ways of campaigning and politics.

And he has become worse with age.

I hate when he is on with Dobbs, and click right through it.

He is NEVER optimistic.

It looks like, according to another article above this one that most of the house seats in California have the Republican incumbent up by 5. It doesn’t matter if Nancy Piglouse increases here margin to 96% from 82% in another race.

If Mendez falls in NJ the South Jersey Republican seats are safe.

Only Pennsylvania where the Democrats redrew the precinct lines is a real issue along, evidently with upstate New York.

Not predicting but it would not surprise me if the Republicans not only held the house but picked up a seat or two.

What Gillum thinks about impeachment is immaterial, he is not ever going to be in any position to do anything about his opinion one way or the other. He’s running for governor.
