American Verizon workers say mass layoffs are coming as soon as next week in exclusive statements to Breitbart News.
Essentially, the deal for the 44,000 workers forces them to resign and take the severance or stay on at the corporation until they are eventually laid off and not eligible to receive the hefty severance package.
As Breitbart News reported, Verizon has announced that it will outsource its IT department to Infosys, one of the biggest multi-billion dollar outsourcing firms in the U.S. that has been accused of undercutting American workers and discriminating against black and white Americans in favor of Indian nationals.
Altogether, Verizon executives claim the outsourcing will only impact 1,000 Verizon workers. Employees who spoke to Breitbart News say that outsourcing will likely hit 5,000 workers eventually.
But those not being transitioned to Infosys against the will of the Verizon workers, they say are being laid off through a process that is being masked by the corporation as an offer.
Weve been treated like non-Verizon employees, one of the American workers told Breitbart News.

Sounds like a typical AT&T mentality incentive to go package. It’s fiercely competitive industry (mobile phones) with intensive capex and R&D requirements. Plus, they’re not dominant in the internet connectivity space, where FIOS frankly, sucks.
This is how it all started in Silicon Valley 30 years ago.
Look for Verizon to demand more H1b to man their stores.
Infosys is a corrupt company which ONLY hires Indians.
they slipped tk third in IoT.
They lost FirstNet to ATT.
While winning in consumer cellular, its low margin and not a growth market.
the PSTN is dead for all RBOCs.
they are 4th or 5th in cyber security.
net: sell
Infosys is the technology company based in India and it has a history of abusing the H1B visa system to simply bring Indians here to do jobs it does not want to hire Americans for.
And this is the company the traitorous Verizon is hiring to take over the Verizon IT operations.
I think its time I switched my cell phone service.
TAX 'EM, TRUMP! why should firms that outsource overseas be rewarded with the same tax structure as those who hire American IT workers?
This is the company that bought AOL. What does that tell you?
Two weeks before the election. Any politics involved here?
“Row hard and live”
We switched from Verizon to https://www.xfinity.com/mobile/plan
Cut our cell phone bill from just over $100 to under $30.
Yup, your guy Obozo screwed this up, but Trump is fixing it as fast as he can. 8 years of destruction takes time to fix.
Going to be some lawsuits. If the outsourcing is only going to affect 1,000 people, Verizon wouldn’t bother with outsourcing.
I am aware of what has been going on at VZW. This is the 4th round of layoffs in the past two years. Hans Vesberg was brought in to cut the head count and any employee with tenure will be gone by Thanksgiving.
Verizon also bought Yahoo a few years ago.
Also remember that Verizon is a major sponsor of the super bowl and will roll out 5g at that time. A lot of knowledge and experience will be lost.
If the separation agreements include a waiver of future claims against the company, that waiver may not be valid.
Well they laid me off in Dec 2016 after 15 yrs of service along with 1500 fellow employees..Boss called me at 4 am to notify me...Least got a decent severance package..Funny think everyone that I knew that was let go was on the upper end of time of employment with VZW.
This should be a great boon for Trump to push his agenda right at the midterms and why they need the GOP to cut back immigration and get American companies to stop screwing over American employees.
I don’t know much about Infosys.
I have to work a lot with Accenture. When they kick off a project, they bring their A Team and after a couple weeks next thing you know the A Team rolls off and there are indians and paki’s running around everywhere. Their playbook is the same for every project and they literally can’t operate off script. Completely frustrating.
Alternate title could read: Drop Verizon if you have it so you don’t add to this blatant abuse of American workers.
I took a package in 1998.
The cellular network in the US is a strategic asset. No country in its right mind would allow the outsourcing of the control of its cellular network. Congress needs to draft a law that in the critical infrastructure industries like telecommunications, utilities, energy, financial, and transportation cannot utilize foreign nationals either inside or outside of US territory to run or maintain critical infrastructure, operations, or the IT infrastructure controlling them.
In the case of Verizon that would mean maintaing, monitoring their cell towers, no foreigners involvedwith with software and IT infrastructure supporting Call Routing, Device Management Solutions, Location Based Services, etc.
