Hatice Cengiz, the fiancée of Jamal Khashoggi, has been given police protection as Turkey investigates the activist writer's death, according to a report.

The Istanbul governor's office approved the protection on Sunday, Turkey's state-run media agency Anadolu reported.

The Istanbul Police Department was ordered to protect Cengiz, a doctoral student in Istanbul.

The report did not elaborate on why Cengiz was given police protection.

Under protection or in captivity? It seems that there are few truth tellers on all sides of this story.

As a side note, in modern parlance ‘fiance ‘ means ‘the person I have been boinking lately’.

I wish I knew why my Khashoggi Give A S*** (GAS) number is in minus territory. With the far left extremists screaming about it 24/7/365, it must be important, to somebody. I just don’t know who or why. I never heard of Khashoggi until the ‘RATS started their tantrums and crying about his passing.

He was a Muslim Brotherhood friend of Al Quaida, nobody cares what happened to him. If you are not up to date with the changes happening in SA then you should do some studying before exposing your ignorance on this forum.

He was not an American citizen
He was not on US soul
He was dumb enough to go to a consulate alone

Boy, a despotic country kills one of their citizens and I’m supposed to (1) be surprised, (2) be outraged and (3) demand they be toppled. On the other hand Saddam Hussein had people fed into wood chippers and CNN thought that was sad but not worthy of note. In fact they helped cover that sort of thing up in exchange for a promise of “access”. Hypocrites.

Here's what I'm referring to:
NY Times: The News We Kept to Ourselves

It's full of hand waving excuses for why they and CNN simply couldn't publish the brutality of Hussein. But it's just handwaving, they were okay with a certain level of brutality because they were getting exclusive access. Relevant extract:
"I came to know several Iraqi officials well enough that they confided in me that Saddam Hussein was a maniac who had to be removed. One Foreign Ministry officer told me of a colleague who, finding out his brother had been executed by the regime, was forced, as a test of loyalty, to write a letter of congratulations on the act to Saddam Hussein. An aide to Uday once told me why he had no front teeth: henchmen had ripped them out with pliers and told him never to wear dentures, so he would always remember the price to be paid for upsetting his boss. Again, we could not broadcast anything these men said to us."
