Trump declares national emergency over US-bound migrant caravan

Donald Trump has ordered the military to be on alert over a US-bound migrant caravan as he declared a national emergency.

Referring to the caravan from Honduras, the president tweeted: "Sadly, it looks like Mexico's Police and Military are unable to stop the Caravan heading to the Southern Border of the United States.

"I have alerted Border patrol and Military that this is a National Emergency."

He added that the US would begin "cutting off, or substantially reducing aid" to three Central American countries.

Agree. And for those snowflakes claiming "Posse Comitatus," here's the applicable portion under 18 USC 1385

18 U.S. Code § 1385 - Use of Army and Air Force as posse comitatus

Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or the Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.

Note it says "Army" or "Air Force." What military branches are NOT mentioned?

That would be a good idea except foe the part about Congress doing something.

Right now, start inspecting the F out of every vehicle entering from Mexico. Make them unload and then reload every load of cargo, and look in every container. If they don't get the hint in about 24 hours, just close the border. Mobilize whatever Border Patrol, ICE, military, and regular cops it takes to close it down, totally.

Put up a couple of tent cities.

Put them, and the entire world, on maximum notice that no flights in from MGH (Mexico Guatemala Honduras) will be allowed... everyone goes to jail if they try, especially the pilot.

El Salvador, Belize, et al need to pay attention also... they need us worse than we need them.

Close the border first. Then start complete inspections as a negotiated compromise. If the produce trucks back up and spoil, Mexico will want the wall and help pay for it.

And if they aren’t willing to shoot then they might as well stay home because the invasion force knows that they aren’t going to shoot and will end up walking right by our military and in that moment, the country will have been lost without firing a shot.
