Julián Castro, the former San Antonio mayor and secretary of Housing and Urban Development for President Obama whose 2012 Democratic National Convention speech transformed him into a national leader overnight, is a hard man to keep track of.
For months, the 44-year-old Castro has been hopscotching between Nevada, Florida, Arizona and other battleground states to campaign for Democrats ahead of the 2018 midterms. He dutifully trekked to the Iowa State Fair in August for a turn on the famous political soapbox. Last weekend, Castro was back in Iowa to stump for Democrat J.D. Scholten, who is challenging alt-right-winger and neo-Nazi sympathizer Rep. Steve King (R-IA). On the eve of his visit, King lashed out at Castro and his twin brother, Joaquin, a congressman who represents San Antonio, tweeting that they took Spanish lessons to qualify as retroactive Hispanics. Castro brushed off the vitriol. He knows that a lot of folks are dissatisfied with the job hes doing. Hes just reaching for anything he can to distract from that.

There is a strong inclination to stop reading right there.
he kinda looks like a queer, to start. Second, he has accomplished nothing other than having an illegal immigrant parent.
I must have missed that transformative moment.
They always give a transformational speech at the dim con..?
The left looks for their next Obama. Notice the narrative they are trying to build around him.
Well he’s Hispanic. That’s the major qualifier to get the Democrat Nomination. Be black, brown or have a vagina.
What a terrible life this "cholo" has so far. Boo hoo...
Maybe because he's an unfamiliar, obscure radical liberal?
Who?
Saw him on CBS This morning, I thought they were going to smother him with their kid gloves.
The Castros entered politics to push the La Raza agenda. Cities and towns in US border states that once had Anglo majorities or at least Anglo-run governments went from First World to Third World when they were taken over by Chicanos and (often illegal) Mexican nationals. That’s Julian Castro’s vision for the rest of America.
The party that lives and dies with identity politics is gonna get extra helpings of it in 2020. For the first time you might have a serious Black and Hispanic candidate facing off against each other in the Dem primaries. That could be a real implosion there. Contrary to the media propaganda Black and Hispanic Democrats dont particularly like each other. Blacks are struggling to hold onto their powerful position in party leadership while Hispanics know their large numbers potentially makes them the most important constituency in the RAT Party, and theyre fed up being left out of the loop.
“Who?”
Any relation to Fidel...other than ideology?
They will be the extremist multicultural dream team
“he kinda looks like a queer, to start.”
Should have seen him the first time he ran. Lisping tweety bird all the way. He also lost. Then he came back a few years later, polished and with a wife constantly by his side.
Them consultants did a good job at a paint job and some siding.
illegal immigrant parent.

Well, then he is not a natural born citizen and is ineligible.
If anybody still cares about the Constitution......
Wasn’t he involved in the Denver Airport fiasco somehow?
When they put a new airport 20 miles outside the city?
Because what this country needs is someone called...
President Castro?
Having a proud San Antonio Communist for a mother, the Castro brothers feel the Democrat Party is now catching up with their family politics. They couldn’t be more Leftist if their father had been Fidel.
