Human beings might have to cope with an increasing amount of venomous bites, stings, and other brush ups with poison due to climate change. Thats according to a new study, coming at the same time that the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released a report warning that negative impacts from a warming world are coming faster than expected.
According to a massive new analysis of poisonous or venomous aquatic animals, dangerous species might become increasingly common in new ranges. Species whose ranges might shift polewards due to warmer water include lionfish, sea snakes, crown-of-thorns starfish and a number of different types of venomous jellies.
According to the researchers, the problem is only going to be exacerbated in the future as more and more people move into coastal areas. They note that by the end of the century, 50 percent of the worlds population will be living within 60 miles of a coastline.
There are more and more people going in the water, Purcell agrees.
We are a part of our environment and our ecosystem. Changes affect us and we change whats happening in our ecosystem, Neylan says.

I’ll say! ManBearPig really gets around these days.
Peach
Right on cue.
Each day, we get a minimum of one disaster due to climate change.
Not even worth countering any more since roughly 0.00001% of those predictions will occur.
Is there anything climate change can’t do?
Crown of Thorns Starfish!?
OH NO! Those things are the worstest!
Haven't the majority of human populations lived near the coasts for ever ?
Sea monsters are making a comeback and may soon be off the extinct species list
>>, the problem is only going to be exacerbated in the future as more and more people move into coastal areas.
this is colonial trends, not “global warming”
Maybe they are on the rise because they are mating?
Sounds like a big problem. I’ll get right on it.
>> They note that by the end of the century, 50 percent of the worlds population will be living within 60 miles of a coastline.
so the other 50% are supposed to grow the food inland while 50% surf, tan, and screw on the beach?
There are more and more people going in the water,
Hmm. My simple, rational mind thinks more people were in the water, to get food to survive, before this generation.
tell China:
24 Sept: Bloomberg: China Is Adding More Coal Capacity
The projected expansion contrasts with government announcements of cutting unwanted and inefficient mines
by Jing Yang; With assistance by Aibing Guo, and Ben Sharples
For all its talk about cutting coal mining capacity, China actually plans to add more. The worlds biggest producer and user of the fuel may see net annual capacity additions of as much as 400 million tons by 2020, according to estimates from analysts including Wood Mackenzie Ltd. Thats about 10 percent of its current capacity and almost as much as Indonesia, the worlds biggest exporter, sells each year.

NO!! Not Dihydrogen Monoxide!! It's everywhere!!
IMPOSSIBLE!!, The Oceans all died 25 years ago, see Whoopi and Ted.
A couple of observations.
The article said “might”. Seems like they would be able for say something definitive.
Also, the article said people are going to move towards the coast. I thought that sea levels were rising and we couldn’t move towards it coast, plus with the increase and storms people will moving away from our coast, right?
I keep box jellies in my aquarium just to feed to my diamondbacks. I feed my diamondbacks to my mamba snakes.
Its a magical time we live in.
