Professor Jordan Peterson argued this weekend that Brett Kavanaugh should step down from the Supreme Court for a "less divisive" nominee to take his place, despite Petersons past advice to "never apologize to a mob."...The tweet came in response to a thread by former Evergreen State College Professor Bret Weinstein, who called Kavanaugh an "entitled punk."

Professor Jordan Peterson should step down for a “less divisive” professor.
Otherwise he might be accused of more untrue and illogical criticisms.
Hes Canadian and doesnt understand the US. He got hammered on Twitter when he tweeted this. Finally apologized. Said it was a thought experiment
No he wasnt being sarcastic. He got hammered on Twitter for it. Finally had to apologize claiming he was just doing a thought experiment
You are so right. I am so tired of the subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) anti-Americanism here. They should appreciate which side their bread is buttered on. They don’t have to fully fund their military because they know the US would be here in an instant.
Hes Canadian through and through
This “Kavanaugh isn’t legitimate” meme will NEVER end unless/until Ford and her entire posse are prosecuted and their lies are exposed.
McConnell, Grassley, Graham — whoever — needs to get the ball rolling on this. If it isn’t taken care of now, Trump’s next appointment hearings will be a worse circus and more lives will be destroyed. There could be deaths.
I think that is the most likely explanation for the rare gaffe by Jordan Peterson. There are other reasonable explanations, which others have made here.
That said, those completely dismissing him as a result are making a terrible mistake and should take the time to listen to him at length. He is a huge ally in the Culture Wars which we are just beginning to fight, and which must be won. Ill warn that he is wordy. He is a university professor after all. And ultimately, hes worth the modest time investment.
Go watch the full Cathy Newman interview. This is what seems to have really brought the larger public to him.

In which he pleasantly, professionally eviscerates a 3rd wave feminist newsy. And shes so clueless she doesnt even understand what is happening.
His criticisms of the Postmodernists in our universities are spot on. He sees them as the heirs of the Communists, which they are, and who he hates, having read his Solzhenitsyn. And he has a huge following of Millenials and Gen Z men. This is a good thing.

FReepers should know who JP is, he is an ally. This gaffe does not change that.

Do not make the mistake of casting this man aside over 1 Tweet. Do not do so while ignorant of his work. We need him in the Culture Wars fight.
FYI Im pinging most of the thread, and not necessarily just those dismissing him over this.
If he wasnt being sarcastic, then he was definitely wrong.
When I discovered Peterson over a year ago I watched several days of his videos. Then it hit me there is a conclusion he should come to if he can make the observations he does that he is unable to for whatever reason. Then I realized Peterson really is a great place for people to go who just arent really ready for The Red Pill. Sort of training wheels before full adulthood. Really. Clean your room? Seriously?
After reading the response I got from, abigkahuna, and now you, I’ve given this a bit more thought and I think both of you are right. I don’t know the guy and can’t talk to him to see exactly what it is he meant. However, if his intention is to drag more folks in, whether they’re on OUR side or the enemies, all the better.
As we all know, he can take people down without them grasping that he’s made a fool of them til it’s too late.
To prove Ford is not a witch; she should be fitted with cement overshoes and tested to see if she floats.
> he is an ally. This gaffe does not change that.
I’m afraid it changes a lot more than you credit, here.
Conservatives have a long history of scam artists and traitors who talk the talk and then stab us in the back at the moment of truth.
Peterson not even being an American is outside of his rights to call for the resignation of a US Supreme Court justice. This is called “foreign interference”.
This raises a couple of very serious issues with Peterson. One, he doesn’t respect Americans’ right to make our own decisions in these matters. Two, when it matters the most, Peterson’s thinking has led him to one of the worst possible conclusions on this issue imaginable. So clearly, there is something very very wrong with the way he thinks about the world, if he thought forfeiting the win after it has been earned is not only reasonable, but advisable.
He’s starting to smell a lot like Glenn Beck - earned our trust for the purposes of achieving a high-impact betrayal.
I suspect that JP, a Canadian, has some blind spots about U.S. politics and, in this case, the tangled history of the long war over judicial supremacy and control of the Supreme Court. I imagine he’ll get briefed before long.
This gaffe wasnt a moment of truth for JBP and Im not sure how you could argue it was. Its not like he was a Senate vote.
>>As we all know, he can take people down without them grasping that hes made a fool of them til its too late.
Worth saying again.
Clickbait.
If you go to the thread it’s fairly clear JP is simply having a conversation about what you ‘could’ do in that situation as the accused... it was not a firm position statement.
That's hyperbole of the highest level. Raw emotion rather than reasoning.
I have no idea who this Jordan Peterson is. Now I know I dont care to want to know.
When somebody I never heard of before says something as stupid as this theres no incentive for me to remember his name. Just another stupid leftist. A dime a dozen.
