The National Rifle Association today applauded the U.S. Senate’s confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to serve as an associate justice on the United States Supreme Court.
“On behalf of our nearly six million members, the NRA congratulates Brett Kavanaugh on his confirmation to the U.S. Supreme Court,” said Chris W. Cox, executive director, National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA). “Kavanaugh is an eminently qualified jurist who will interpret the Constitution as the framers intended. He respects our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms for self-defense.”
In the 2016 elections, voters made clear that the Supreme Court was an issue of critical importance. Today, President Donald Trump has once again delivered on his promise of appointing constitutionally sound justices to our nation’s highest court.
“The NRA would like to thank President Trump for fulfilling his campaign promise to nominate pro-Second Amendment justices to the Supreme Court. The selections of Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh demonstrate President Trump’s unwavering support for our fundamental right to self-defense,” Cox continued.
The U.S. Senate confirmed Kavanaugh by a 50 to 48 vote. The NRA applauds all senators who voted in favor of Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation and would especially like to thank Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) for their leadership in this effort.

retired justice stevens was making the rounds being anti second amendment. He was saying only a “militia” (aka the military) was allowed to be armed. ALSO he was pushing a book advocating, among other left wing amendments, the full repeal of the second amendment.
When they come banging on his door he won’t be able to escape being eaten by his own foolish, and i would say child-like, philosophy of surrender. More Liberty, not Less, Never Less.

Uh-huh. Yeah, well I read Heller & Heller II last night. McDonald as well. I respectfully disagree. Vehemently. This debate was so emotional it may as well have been about abortion. Facts were far & few between.

Yep. I firmly believe this. The Left claimed they were oh so concerned about Roe V Wade. What I think they were really concerned about was they knew Kavanaugh would be the deciding vote in striking down the unconstitutional infringements on American’s 2nd amendment rights in several Leftist state like NY and California. Furthermore, the Originalist majority on the Supreme Court will make the gun grabbing they have in mind impossible for at least a generation.
Without being able to grab the guns, the federal government won’t be able to be nearly as oppressive as the Left wants it to be to further their agenda.
