Washington (CNN) Thursday was a very good day for Brett Kavanaugh -- maybe his best day since being chosen as Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee back in July. Friday was even better, as his confirmation to the court appeared to be sealed with three key senators deciding he's worthy of being confirmed....
...So what would it mean if Kavanaugh is confirmed Saturday? Two main things.
1. Kavanaugh on the Court would fundamentally reshape it in a more conservative direction for potentially decades to come. Lost amid the massive political fight occasioned by the allegations by Ford and Ramirez is the fact that Kavanaugh is without question more conservative than the man he is replacing -- Anthony Kennedy. Whereas Kennedy was regarded as the swing vote on the court for many years, Kavanaugh's ascension would change all that. There would likely be a relatively reliable 5-4 conservative majority on the court.
2. Trump would be a big winner. Circumstances have conspired to hand Trump a major opportunity: To put two justices on the Supreme Court within his first two years in office....
The Point: There are no asterisks next to the names of the members of the Supreme Court. Whether you got there on a unanimous Senate vote or barely survived, your vote still counts the same. And when that vote is one of only nine on the most important court in the country, with no term limits, it counts a whole hell of a lot.

Bump
This occurred to me as well. He swung on Obamacare.
Shut the hell up. Dont give these idiots any ideas.
Winning...sorry Dems...
Maybe down the line outfits like CNN might even have to retool... and actually try some honesty... but I won't hold my breath on that.
Anyway, I'm loving the fact I voted for him... he's amazing!
What the whiny snowflake media fails to mention is that their reliable Kennedy swing vote CHOSE to step down at this time so Trump could choose his successor.
What does that say about his view of his ‘swing vote’?
“I think we end up with a 4-1-4 court just like we had.
Roberts will be the new swinger.”
This “problem” will be “fixed” by Ruthies death. It will be backstopped by Breyer’s departure. Trump needs to leave the country with a 7 to 2 SCOTUS. “Reupping” Thomas’ and Alito’s seats would be wonderful too. The icing on the cake would be to get to replace Sotomayor. The Fat Yenta is too young for any thought of replacement, but she could choke to death on a piece of Brisket of Beef.
“Kav winning means we can shoot libtards, right? /s ?”
He can start with “national CCW reciprocity.” Better still, take the issuance of concealed weapons permits away from the states an enshrine it as a national matter.
“There needs to be an amendment to fix the number of justices at nine. Or maybe to establish an inflexible formula, e.g., something involving the logarithm of the population. “
To do that, you would simply be creating a Ninth Circuit mess with the SCOTUS. Might want to use algorithm in place of logarithm.
Needed to fix that...
Not tied of winning at all!
Maga!!!
Some have pledged/challenged extra donations to FR upon his confirmation...I am one of them...please spread the word that if we are to win, we need to find it within ourselves to invest in our FReedom...lots plan to celebrate with a few 'cocktails' but it would be nice if they also slid a few extra bucks Jim Rob's way.
I like
“Better still, take the issuance of concealed weapons permits away from the states an enshrine it as a national matter.”
Oh, HELL no.
... and ...
I certainly hope NOT. We need him. Have to replace the 3 women first.
It means that Roberts will move left to replace Kennedy.
The smear on Kavanaugh must be investigated and prosecuted.
The same people and infrastructure will reliably be used to attack the next nominee.
The best defense is a good offense. All that is necessary for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing.
I view it as 1 small step in the right direction. Dems chose to die on this hill...thankfully because it will thin their ranks for the next one or two which appear to be a sea change.
Imagine a RBGinsburg swap for Amy Conan Barrett. Remember, too, all current female justices are raging liberals. We want some balance and diversity (of thought)
Soros has something on Roberts.
See 0bamacare.
Because court packing worked out so well for FDR when he tried it (and the Democrats controlled EVERYTHING), didn’t it?
