Kanye West delivered a speech about President Trump and other political topics to the "Saturday Night Live" audience in the room following one of his performances early Sunday evening.
After he performed "Ghost Town" at the end of the 44th season premiere for "SNL," West, who wore a red "Make America Great Again" hat, said he was bullied backstage due to his choice of headwear.
"They bullied me backstage. They said, 'don't go out there with that hat on. They bullied me backstage. They bullied me! And then they say I'm in a sunken place," he said. "You want to see the sunken place? Okay, I'ma listen to ya'll now or I'ma put my Superman cape on, cuz this means you can't tell me what to do. Follow your heart and stop following your mind. That's how we're controlled. That's how we're programmed. If you want the world to move forward, try love."
Turning to the people gathered behind him on stage, West said, "Thank ya'll for giving me this platform. I know some of ya'll don't agree, but ya'll be going at that man ... and I don't think it's actually that helpful. I think the universe has balance. Ninety percent of news are liberal."
He continued: "90 percent of TV, L.A., New York, writers, rappers, musicians. So it's easy to make it seem like it's so one-sided."

There’s your WHITE PRIVILEDGE - “WHY ARE YOU WEARING A MAGA HAT!? AS A BLACK MAN YOU CAN’T HAVE YOUR OWN OPINION”
That’s a great point, but more specifically I think it’s “leftist white” privilege. Constitutional whites believe in individual expression.
I have a lot of respect for Kanye West, although I don’t know anything about him other than he appears to be an extremely successful entertainer and businessman.
This is big. The Left is scared s-less of this guy, and the impact he is going to have. At least a lot of black people are going to be talking about it, and I believe it’s going to embolden a lot of blacks who have previously kept quiet, to finally start speaking out.
Throw it back in their faces, call them Racist.
I’ve made fun of Kanye before.
So apparently, aside from being a genius, Kanye is also a courageous individual, which is rare.
Odd to think that Kanye could be the catalyst for a Black Wave that helps keep republicans in the majority this November
and assures President Trump of a second term in 2020.
Maybe he found out what it is like to be discarded once you are not on top of the charts. Brotha ddon’t like to be used by da massa.
I’m gonna have to listen to some of his music and maybe go buy an album or two
All these anti bullying campaigns in schools but then they grow up and turn into bullies as long as they are bullying the right.
West: "Kanye has left the plantation."
The anti bullying campaigns end up with cart blank bullying of the perceived bullier. It’s designed not to protect kids but destroy any freespeach that goes against the opposite of normality.
So, its encouraging to now see some prominent black voices waking up and pointing that out, as they see it, to an unwilling audience.
Its not supposed to be like this. There was a free black man pulling oars in General Washingtons boat and others like him fighting along side fellow Americans for our independence.
But, the evil in our politics violated our Bill of Rights and made others who look like him perpetual slaves.
The Republican Party was born in the fight to once again free us all under our Bill of Rights, yet here we all are generations later, still fighting with the demonrats to be free at last, free at last.
Pray for His Spirit of Understanding, that we, the people, may finally see our way out of this trap, instead of fighting with each other to maintain it and this divided house.
Kanye should say, “I was wrong about George Bush, it’s the Democrats who truly don’t care about black people”
The tolerant left strikes again.
Woe to him that is Black, and leaveth the Collectivist Plantation.
There’s a lot to respect here.
He was essentially a non-entity to me.
Since his outspoken support of Trump, I’ve developed a good deal of respect for him. As other said, it took a lot of guts to deliver this message.
Kudos to him.
