Sen. Lisa Murkwoski (R-AK) told reporters Friday that she agrees with fellow moderate Republican Sen. Jeff Flake (AZ) in his call for an FBI investigation that would delay the Senate floor vote on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination for up to one week.
Murkowski believes there should be an investigation that is “limited in time and scope.”
Murkowski to @ckmarie:
“do you support Senator Flake’s call for a delay and an FBI investigation?”
Murkowski: "yes I do. It has to be limited in time and scope.”— Phil Mattingly (@Phil_Mattingly) September 28, 2018
During the Senate Judiciary Committee vote to move Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination to the full Senate, Sen. Flake insisted that he did not think they should have a full vote on Kavanaugh until there has been a week-long FBI investigation into sexual misconduct allegations against Kavanaugh.
The committee did vote 11-10 to confirm Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
As a moderate Republican, Sen. Murkowski was a key vote in the confirmation process.
Kavanaugh's confirmation will be determined by her and other key moderate senators such as Sens. Susan Collins (R-ME) and Jeff Flake.
Judge Kavanaugh and Dr. Christine Blasey Ford both gave emotional testimonies Thursday on allegations that he groped her and pinned her down while he was drunk at a party in high school.
Kavanaugh fully denies her allegations and the witnesses she initially claimed were present have denied that such an event occurred.

It won’t be one week. This opens the door to endless “new revelations” with the Democrats demanding they all be investigated too. This is their avenue to indefinite delay.
Hasn’t the FBI already declined to investigate Kavanaugh again?
There has already been six previous background investigations on Kavanaugh, which turned up nothing.
I suppose Wray could order a new investigation or the President could request it.
This hag is holding out for a bigger payoff from Planned Parenthood.
You assume the FBI will be reasonable, on our side and not Deep State.
I sincerely hope the guy is right!
I so much want the Republicans to pick up a few extra Senate seats during the upcoming election, so that we can TOTALLY IGNORE Murkowski. Make her become irrelevant.
How do idiots like this reach high office? This is not in the FBI’s jurisdiction. Even if you turn to local LE, which has jurisdiction, there is nothing to investigate. She has no details, no time, date or place, and no witnesses.
You watch more and more women will be spun up till he says enough!
Ok, I’ll bend over. Be gentle.”
Two outcomes
1) the fbi says we dont do this..goodbye
2). They wont be done in a week if they start
He’s done, PT will roast his waffling, and that will be it.
Is it obligatory for the Majority Leader to consider the recommendation of Jeff Flake and the Dems that the final vote be delayed for their FBI three-ring-circus?
Yes. Think of it as a SC investigation. And it's the same players in charge at the DOJ and the FBI.
What is wrong with these idiots?
Isaiah 3:12.
You nailed it - Provides political cover for waffle RINOS and Red State DEMs and 1 week is well before Mid term Nov 6, but ... What happens if another wacko accuser comes forward and they will.
i tend to agree with you...
And that is why 52-48 is better than 51-49. I don’t live in Alabama but the Roy Moore thing cost the Republicans.
The stipulation was a week or less.
Flake even explicitly said “one week, it may not even take that long.”
I don’t get why people here are freaking out over this now. I think it all worked out pretty well, especially considering Kavanaugh got voted favorably out of committee too.
Lachlan Markay is FOS. Delusional. On oxy.
