That said, I think Kav is now in the process of being energized because he is assuredly our next SC Justice.

Well, now that you bring that up - how to you people feel who were posting “it’s all over!” earlier? Not to rub your faces in it - just wondering if you’ve reconsidered.
I wasn’t one who said it was “all over,” but I did say that Grassley and the Republicans have been outmaneuvered by the Democrats. The Republicans were treating this as a trial rather than the purely political exercise it actually is.
Too soon to say what the consequence of all of this will be. Again, this is all politics, and all that matters is: (1) Does this cause at least two Republicans not to vote for Kavanaugh? and (2) Does this cost Republicans votes in November? I can say that one conservative friend of mine—an activist who fights for conservative causes—now believes Ford and things Kavanaugh should not be confirmed. Purely anecdotal, of course, but it is not a great sign for how this is playing.
You obviously don’t mean me because I have believed from the git-go that Kav would be confirmed.
