She’s only failing miserably if you’re looking for a “You can’t handle the truth” moment. Otherwise she’s doing great in blowing up the polygraph including now that Ford doesn’t even know the date she took which was the day of her grandmother’s funeral, the supposed fear of flying, who she spoke to both in and out of Congress, the location of the party. It’s coming together, just a lot slower than people would like.
there is a perception she’s failing because the Dems collectively refused to give up their time slots and so every five minutes we get hero speeches peppered with interruptions of Mitchell’s time. But if you listen to what Mitchell is asking, she’s collecting a lot of conflicting tidbits to be spun together - if she can get the time.
We're going to see that word all over for the next ten years.

They don't understand. She showed that Ford could lie easily and that she is somewhat out of it when it comes to memory. Also she didn't attack the "poor little flower." All she was there for was to keep the fence-sitters in the Senate on our side. It's not trying to please the public, other attorney's, leftist news people.
