With refugee resettlement at a historic low, California’s melting pot is slowly changing
San Jose Mercury ^ | September 24, 2018 | Tatiana Sanchez

Just two years ago, California took in nearly 7,000 refugees, a testament to the reputation of this state — and the country — as a mecca for beleaguered people from all over the world.

But that’s changed under policies enacted by President Donald Trump’s administration to drastically cut the number of refugees eligible to enter the U.S.

Because refugee resettlement agencies receive roughly $2,100 from the federal government for every refugee arrival, the state’s declining arrival numbers have meant the loss of thousands of dollars in funding.

They get their bounty and then put the refugees on taxpayer funded support programs.

More room for illegals from Mexico. What’s the problem?

This is nothing but state sponsored/taxpayer funded human trafficking.

Jerry Brown’s Marxist machine -— produces votes and money all at the expense of the taxpaying producers in the state. Tax and spend, and keep the foreign invaders pouring in.

A demographic, financial nightmare. It was once really great.

“drastically cut the number of refugees eligible to enter the U.S.”

I wish.

Dear San Jose Mercury News -

You might want to request the opportunity to review units set aside for refugees in California. Many are still undergoing rehabilitation and repair and won’t start being available until the end of the year.

But, yeah, why go any further than blaming Trump’s policies which have little effect on already approved migration.

Just a thought...

“Just two years ago, California took in nearly 7,000 refugees”

All day long I hear about the housing crisis in California. The dream of the single family home is dead. We must build multi story hundred unit transit housing. Maybe we should try limiting population to the carrying capacity of the infrastructure.

Yeah, that’s the ticket. Turn the once #1 State in the Nation into a $hit hole of worthless trash from around the world, and use the tax resources of those of us who have made our lives here. If Brown died tomorrow, I’d open the best bottle of wine in my “cellar” and celebrate his death. I’d drink an extra glass to his assassin if that’s they way he left this world. He has done inestimable damage to the beautiful place.

I’m sorry, but, umm, they’re way ahead of you. The problem is that they’ve not laid new foundations for a while and existing inventory had to be rehabilitated due to (naturally) neglect. Competing for properties has been HUD who has had the far larger budget and picked up many properties they would have taken for immigrant resettlement.

The California “melting pot” stoped melting decades ago when new California immigrants decided they did not want to become Americans.

“Melting pot” is such a racist term. It suggests the U.S. way of life is better than what those emigres left behind them. (/sarc)

On it’s worst day, it’s light years better than wherever it is that you take your morning $hit! I don’t know where that is because you are too embarrassed to tell us all where you live! You probably live in a double wide and most of what you eat is fried!

With 92 languages other than English spoken, for example, in the LAUSD, I think the pot is just fine and dandy. Not much melting, though. And THAT is the problem.

...has welcomed thousands of refugees from Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, the Congo, Sri Lanka, Burundi, Burma.and Ethiopia, offering them a second chance in a new land...

This tactic has led to the Babalonization of California.

The culture of America is stripped bare, while enclaves of foreign nationals crop up where America used to exist.

These people get slapped into Social Security, Medicaid, welfare, free phones, Section 8 housing, and I suspect a big fat resettlement package including cash.

This is the most destructive idea that has ever been devised. It’s a flat out society killer. Your culture, it’s gone. It is not celebrated. It is seen as White privilege or another version of it that is not so overt. You should hear Blacks talk about how their culture is destroyed as Hispanics overrun their neighborhoods.

No culture wants to die, and yet that is what is taking place to our culture.

I spent just short of ten hours yesterday listening to what one might consider snake charming music. It’s the sound you connect to the flute played a man playing to a cobra in a basket.

At other times the sounds of a man singing what sounded as if he was singing songs from India. The whole program was presented in a foreign language and blared out over loudspeakers for over a quarter of a mile.

If you and I did this sort of thing it would be called a disturbance of the peace. Since it’s city sanctioned, it’s just fine. Well, no it really isn’t. It just rubs the nose of the long term American citizen in the fact their culture has been destroyed.

To absolute hell for those who think this is for the better good.

They want the US to be so fractured it can’t stand against anything.

Is Russia, China, Mexico, or even ONE non Western nation doing this to itself?

No.

Why not, if it’s so great?

Give it some thought. You’ll know.
