WASHINGTON The Senate Judiciary Committee earlier today offered to move next weeks hearing to receive testimony from Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Judge Brett Kavanaugh to Wednesday, in order to accommodate one of several requests made by Fords legal team. The Committee also offered to accommodate certain other terms while respecting fairness, due process and the senators ability to fulfill their constitutional duties.
Chairman Grassley issued the following statement:
Despite the fact that the July 30th letter remains hidden, my committee has been investigating the allegations and has heard from multiple witnesses since Sunday. Ms. Katz has discussed Dr. Fords allegations in numerous media interviews and said on TV Monday morning that Dr. Ford wants to share her account with the Senate Judiciary Committee. Its Friday night and nothings been agreed to despite our extensive efforts to make testimony possible, Grassley said. Im extending the deadline for response yet again to 10 oclock this evening. Im providing a notice of a vote to occur Monday in the event that Dr. Fords attorneys dont respond or Dr. Ford decides not to testify. In the event that we can come to a reasonable resolution as Ive been seeking all week, then I will postpone the committee vote to accommodate her testimony. We cannot continue to delay.
The chairman issued a notice of a committee executive business meeting, at which the committee can vote on the nomination of Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh to be an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court of the United States. The official notice can be found below.
In addition to the delayed hearing date, the committee has also agreed to certain hearing logistics requests and to assist in coordinating security for the hearing. The Committee did not agree to a number of demands regarding witness numbers and speaking orders, as the committee does not accept witness or subpoena requests from other witnesses as a condition of testimony. As a fundamental matter of fairness and due process, Dr. Ford would provide her testimony containing the allegations and Judge Kavanaugh would be able to respond. The Committee also will determine who will conduct the questioning.
Okay, there’s no hurry then. None at all. Let her decide when and if she feels like testifying. When she responds some time next week or next month, then they can schedule a hearing.
Blasely is in charge.
She is effectively dictating which cases he can decide. Assuming he ever gets approved by the time they create more obfuscation. And they will.
Ummmmm.....except in this case.....I guess.......errrr.......what did I just say?......Well, ignore that.......
Well, we were right. Grassley caved.
Yep - that’s why DiFi “sweetly” asked why waiting to even Thursday would be too much to ask....
That's how leftists progress. Large chunks if they can, smaller ones if they can't. Tiny ones if small won't work. Miniscule if tiny won't go. Microscopic if miniscule won't.
No matter what, always move ahead. Never, never move back.
Let them play that game. That's how our 'leaders' lose time after time.
New deadline is this afternoon.
Grassley and Sessions are really Bert And Ernie. Just puppets for the Democrats.
Someone send Grassley a set of cajones and a set to TurtleFace.
It appears that Grassley is adopting 0bama’s “red line” strategy.
tick tock tick tock
I say: It is PAST time to hold the Kavanaugh vote, and discard DemocRAT distractions. She missed deadline after deadline. And look at her supporters! Cory Spartacus said he was a groper, didn’t he? We know Blumenthal lied about his “war” record and Feinstein kept a ChiCom spy on staff for 20 years and then covered it up with the help of Comey’s FBI. Kamala and Hironi are certifiably insane.
It is TIME for an FBI investigation of the ACCUSER!
