If the situation were reversed and it was a Dem nominee for SCOTUS, the Dems would destroy the woman similar to what Clinton did with his bimbo eruptions or ignore the claims like what is now happening with the Keith Ellison case. The Dems are street fighters who play to win at any cost. Trump is a street fighter, but the rest of the GOP is composed of effete cowards who lack a backbone. They resist confrontation at all costs.

Trump, in his sarcastic, Queens language, is stating the obvious. Now the pearl clutchers in the GOP are having a touch of the vapors because Trump is calling into question the veracity of Ford who has been given a pass.

If Trump wanted a gloves off approach that should have come at the very start of her allegations. Before support for her allegations had a chance to grow and before any doubts about Kavanuagh’s confirmation could be planted in the minds of Republicans. By changing his approach I think he takes away focus on Kavanaugh’s qualifications and on Ford.

There are a number of people who honestly do not care about the truth of her allegations. They only care that the allegations were made. They believe the truth does not matter. What matters is that a person accused of such a thing not be confirmed to the USSC. To them it does not matter if he is innocent and his reputation and career left in tatters because he would not be going to jail. To them support for victims of sexual assault trumps the truth. That is the scary times we live in. Due process be damned. The woman must be believed, at any cost.
