Of course a leftist law professor would spew that nonsense. I’d be stunned if they didn’t.

Even if it happened, does it erase his life and reputation since then?

Are you going to tell me that we are going to take men in their fifties and disqualify them if they acted badly at a party when they were 17 years old, even though this man leads a wonderful life including devoting his life to charity? It’s ridiculous.

That is why the press is not talking to her.

Bingo! Her story was ridiculous and insignificant from the outset. Why are we treating this like a serious attempted rape and as if it happened when this man was sober or adult? It’s a story about a 17 year old by a 15 year old from 36 years ago.

The fact that there is a political conspiracy in place against constitutional, limited, government - and against judges such as Clarence Thomas and Brett Kavanaugh who stand for it - hales back much further back in time than the “vast right wing conspiracy . . . against my husband since the day he announced for president” claim made by Hillary Clinton in twenty years ago. That has been undeniable for so long that it hales back almost to the time referred to in Mrs. Ford’s complaint against Judge Kavenaugh.

Even by Ms. Ford's own telling, in the putative incident:

So the natural question for Senator Feinstein, is

“What difference, at this point, does it make?"

I’ve been scouring the ‘net for any word as to whether the committee is sticking by the 1000 deadline. Anyone else see anything?

Well, for one thing there has to be a REAL allegation — not just a letter to a senator and an interview with the Washington Post. Betty Ford’s refusal to make any allegation in a format that meets even a minimal legal standard is damning.

RE: How Strong Does the Evidence Against Kavanaugh Need to Be?

The standard is and has always been “Guilty beyond reasonable doubt”

I would say evidence that would convict in a CIVIL (not criminal) court. In a civil case, you just have to have a preponderance of evidence to arrive at some degree of guilt, unlike a criminal case where you have to have guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

That would do it for me. Congress with the judiciary committee could convene a “jury” like a grand jury.

My guess is that the nominee would drop out before that actually went forward.

there’s certainly no burden that facts be established

And there you have it.

I’m trying to run down the CIA connections for Christine Blasey Ford.

Some say (mostly Russian ‘news’ sites that her dad was a CIA money bagman and she’s CIA psych leader at Stanford).

See if you (or anyone else on FR) can dig up non-Russian verification:

Here’s another question for the NY Times -

How strong would the evidence against Keith Ellison have to be?

Crickets chirping....

“What matters here isn’t law as much as politics”

That’s been guiding the left for sometime now.

How Strong Does the Evidence Against Kavanaugh Need to Be?

Well, at a minimum it would need to actually exist. So far there has been zero evidence - just one woman saying that a teenage Kavanaugh assaulted her. An accusation is not evidence. An accusation that is not made for decades is barely an accusation.

Obviously the evidence doesn’t have to even be credible.

All that was needed was for someone (like Ford) who was willing to take the heat for making the accusation long enough to derail the nomination process.

The real pressure is NOT coming from Ford... the REAL pressure is coming from all of the sycophants who are as we speak calling every single person related to this hearing to say “Vote NO OR ELSE!” We are NOT hearing about this... but it is happening... we are not hearing about it because the media does not want us to know about how the “jurors” are not just being tampered with, but they are being EXTORTED!!!

This is how trial by public opinion works.

It’s not about putting Kavanaugh in jail... its about thwarting our democracy.... This stuff simply would not be happening to an appointee with communist anti-constitutional beliefs. It just would not happen...

It would not happen because the left plays by a different set of rules which the right simply cannot follow.

The right cannot counter these rules because the left owns the media.

If our constitution believing representatives fail to recognize this for what it is, they will succumb to the pressure... it’s as simple as that.

With Admiral Teddy of the SS Oldsmobile, you actually had a corpse, yet Teddy got a pass. With Kavanaugh, all you have is a “recovered memory” of events from 36 years ago.
