The media’s lies have a price.
Politico, the media outlet of choice for flacks and hacks, has declared that Ron DeSantis, the conservative Republican running for Governor of Florida, against the media’s favorite new socialist, suffered his “fifth race-related” controversy.
That fifth “controversy” is about something that somebody who isn’t DeSantis tweeted. The fourth controversy also involved a DeSantis donor. The third controversy falsely smeared the David Horowitz Freedom Center’s Restoration Weekend attended by DeSantis (and Medal of Honor winner Clinton Romesha). The second involved a GOP official who also isn’t DeSantis. And the first was that DeSantis had been added without his knowledge to a Facebook group where other people said racist things.
And the media actually dares to get offended when people call it, ‘Fake News’.
What the five “race-related” scandals have in common is that none of them involve DeSantis. They’re all guilt by association. Even by the loosest possible association, a donor, a GOP official, someone on the same Facebook page or someone in Florida.
These fake news scandals aren’t being generated because there’s any basis to the racism smear. It’s a strategic campaign decision made because DeSantis’ opponent, Andrew Gillum, is African-American. Since Gillum is black, the Democrats decided to accuse DeSantis of racism. (If DeSantis were running against a woman, he would be accused of sexism.) And the media decided to advance the smear by inventing “race-related” scandals based on the flimsiest of premises to help the Democrats win.

Why not just enforce the established laws against slander, libel and character assassination? The laws were written and put in place for just such crimes >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The ordinary civil law applies only to non public figures. The test of whether a public figure is slandered or not requires that intent and malice be proved, a very difficult thing to do, its almost at the same level of a criminal case would require.
So if one has entered the public arena, the law requires that one suffer slander and defamation whichi would not be the case with a private individual, Thats why the slander and defamation laws should be extended to cover slander and defamation by news services who abuse their 1st amendment rights by making up the facts and using “unknown sources”
to manipulate the public , that’s not free speech IMHO.That’s like yelling “fire” in a crowded theater when there is no
fire.

A very VIGOROUS prosecution, with whatever funding it takes to bankrupt both of them. I would contribute $1000 to this effort.
Why not enforce laws? Because the people that we elected to office will not do that. Of course you should not complain, because, as we have been so strenuously exhorted here on our wonderful forum, those people are the lesser evil of whoever the Democrats would have put in.
“You are just trying to teach the GOP a lesson!” Uhh...no we aren’t.
“You helped put in that Democrat!” Uhh...no we didn’t.
“The time to get them is during the primary. In the general you have to prevent the libs from putting in someone worse.” Uhhh… when you have lost, you have lost.
“You want to maintain your purity as a conservative.” Uhh...purity?!
Without the mainstream media, these antics would never work.
When (if) any private citizen gets him/herself hauled up in front of a judge for ‘libel/slander, etc.... all they have to do is tell the court that there is a precedent in the law for permitting the conduct, so he/she may not be charged with any kind of crime him/herself
Do the same with all the MANY other laws broken by liberals and so conveniently ignored by the courts!
Tax evasion....? Well look at all the Liberals in Congress who were charged and have YET to be prosecuted.... So-your honor, why prosecute ME!?
Witness tampering, RICO/ telling lies to the judge and under oath, etc.? If it's such an insignificant crime when Liberals do it-then why prosecute ME, your honor???!

DeSantis will win. He’s truly amazing at the final sprint. Kicked Putnam’s butt in 30 seconds, once DeSantis pulled the trigger on his sprint blast. Putnam led by double digits fkr what, 6 months? Then in final 6 weeks Ron blew him out of his stirrups.
