Senate Republicans strongly signaled on Wednesday that they will forge ahead with embattled Supreme Court nominee Brett M. Kavanaughs confirmation as his accuser called the rush for a public hearing next week unfair.
GOP senators who fretted earlier this week about the prospects for President Trumps pick are now largely pushing for a vote on Kavanaugh, who is accused of sexually assaulting now-professor Christine Blasey Ford when they were teenagers, amid signs that she may decline to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee. And Trump is more convinced he should stand by Kavanaugh than he was two days ago, people close to the White House say.

It’s clear that this is a smear job against Judge Kavanaugh.
The Senate should vote tomorrow and be done with it.

hes not embattledNo. It's our poor spineless GOPeers who are "embattled." They are surrounded by warring factions and don't know which way to turn. Sure they want to back down from the harridans on their front, but then they realized that there supporters have cut behind them with a spiked, snake infested moat and told them to hold the line. Encircled and friendless? What's a girl to do?

"Seung Min Kim, Josh Dawsey, John Wagner"So, written by Min Kim, translated into English by Dawsey, and then Bezos'd by Wagner (soundtrack included).
That would explain a lot.

Bring it to a vote. NOW. Delaying until after Monday makes not one iota of difference to getting Kavanaugh on the bench by the October USSC session.
