Trump: ‘I Don’t Have An Attorney General’
The Hill ^ | September 18, 2018.

President Trump in an Oval Office interview with Hill.TV launched one of his most ferocious broadsides to date against Jeff Sessions, suggesting the attorney general was essentially AWOL and performing badly on a variety of issues,

“I don’t have an Attorney General. It’s very sad,” Trump told Hill.TV in an extensive and free-wheeling interview Tuesday from the Oval Office.

The president has long excoriated Sessions for his March2017 decision to recuse himself from the Russia collusion investigation. But on Tuesday he suggested he is frustrated by Sessions' performance on far more than that.

“I’m not happy at the border, I’m not happy with numerous things, not just this,” he said.

“He gets in and probably because of the experience that he had going through the nominating when somebody asked him the first question about Hillary Clinton or something he said ‘I recuse myself, I recuse myself,’" Trump said.

“And now it turned out he didn’t have to recuse himself. Actually, the FBI reported shortly thereafter any reason for him to recuse himself. And it’s very sad what happened.”

The FBI in an early 2017 email to a Sessions aide, made public last December, concluded that Sessions did not need to reveal contacts with foreign government officials that were made in the course of his work as a senator.

Yes, there are 2 methods to avoid RR as AG if Sessions is fired:

* Recess appointment - this isn’t going to happen because the Senate doesn’t go on recess anymore
* Appoint as a temporary acting AG someone who has already gone through Senate confirmation for another Executive branch job. This could be any of hundreds of people the Senate has already confirmed, like all of the US attorneys that Trump appointed. They would still require Senate approval, but they could serve for months if the Senate refuses to vote.

What justification would you need to refer these cases to a military tribunal instead of a regular criminal court?

If you look at this posturing as the precursor justification for doing just that, it makes sense.

The charges will be treason, and when a military court looks at the documents and 45s release order, they will likely rule to release, given the classification was used to cover up crimes.

To remain in a cabinet position and not resign after the President has repeatedly said he has no confidence in you is unheard of.

It means a) Sessions has no honor, and;
b) Sessions is part and parcel of the coup and is a traitor.

e turtle has to put the senate in recess at the end of this congress. That’s sometime in December.

I think everything hinges on the results of midterms. In my opinion, we are at a make or break junction on the scale of what happened to Venezuela.

I suppose if you charge them w/ treason and sedition, then absolutely it should be a military tribunal. Strip them of their security clearances in the process and drop the f*^king hammer on them. All that is needed is one or two, mid level, folks, that may be in the know. Two rising stars that were allowed into the back room. Put them in cuffs, put them in a cell and convict them.

It’s all fun and games when you’re at sidewalk cafe, talking sh*t into a covert camera. Let some angry US Marshals, the ones that support the President and hate the bureaucratic weenies that fill the government, do the arrest. They’ll be pissing their pants in no time. And don’t hold them in solitary, in some federal holding area. Put them in a general population, pod, in the DC Metro city jail. We’ll see how long they last. I doubt it will long.

agree. I celebrated when Trump picked Sessions. Called my family excited. I was proud of his choice...I was never so unbelievably wrong. And I’m sad I was wrong because I really liked the guy.

Right. In chess you are locked in by your opening moves. We all knew that Trump had to be on a quick learning curve. His opening moves were bound to be his weakest.

EXCLUSIVE: Trump says exposing ‘corrupt’ FBI probe could be ‘crowning achievement’ of presidency

https://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3688657/posts

~~~
“I celebrated when Trump picked Sessions.”
Me too. But the moment he recused himself that was a warning bell to all of us. The President needed to strongly reconsider. Trump admitted privately [to Rush if I recall] that he had expected people to be less hostile.
So he probably thought that draining the Swamp would be a lot easier — just a few corrupt outlayers who could be ostracized from DC.
But the Swamp proved to be much more powerful.
Even I didn’t realize how massive it is until I heard some of O’Keefe’s recent videos.
Then it’s your job to correct that situation, Mr President. America is getting tired of this.
