Lev 23:39  ‘Also on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruit of the land, you shall keep the feast of the LORD for seven days; on the first day there shall be a sabbath-rest, and on the eighth day a sabbath-rest.

You are correct, I am wrong about what I said. I apologize to everyone on the thread.

LOL!! Can you imagine the list of STUPID VICIOUS questions Spartacus Jazz Hands Booker has already cooked up? He’s also practising his fake crying in the mirror right now.

“Does anyone think our spineless GOP Senators will question Mrs Ford effectively?”

Yes, I believe Lindsey Graham could and would do a very effective job questioning Mrs. Ford. Are you old enough to remember the Clinton impeachment hearing in the house? Graham was spectacular. He is a very good lawyer.

However, I think Kavanaugh did the intelligent thing by hiring a very good personal lawyer. If there is no statute of limitations in Maryland, a politically motivated district attorney could make a lot of problems for the Judge; he could potentially be facing life in prison over this. He was very smart to get a lawyer.

Kavanaugh didn’t hire a lawyer to deal with potential criminal exposure with the allegation. He needs a lawyer to walk him through the process of a Senate confirmation hearing involving a wild, unsubstantiated accusation.

Why will no Republican primary Collins a$$ up there in Maine? Is every single living person there a liberal? Asking for a friend.

I read several articles today about this Ford bich but I never heard anything about her bing under oath, only Kavanaugh being under oath. But being testimony I would expect both sides to be under oath. Did the GOP-e/RINOs agree to let her testify without being under oath, kinda like they didn’t have Obama or Hillary under oath?

I think Collins’ idea is a good one... it’s a reminder to the accuser b!tch that this isn’t a game... you’re going under oath will be required to answer some very harsh questions.

What could possibly go wrong there? Trump and Kelly Ann Conway had already announced that the committee would not "insult" Kavanaugh's accuser. "Harsh questions?"

I'm pretty confident this idea would make things worse for Kavanaugh but great for the Dems and media.

I’m shocked Gloria ALL-RED isn’t pimping this out or her similarly attention-whoring daughter (who is ALSO a lawyer) Lisa Bloom.

what date did this take place

where did it take place

who were the other attendees at the party

No need for a fourth question. By that point she’ll be locked up.

After 36 plus years following an alleged “assault”, Kavanaugh could face “life in prison”? WTH are you talking about?!?

I have heard RUMORS that the DemocRATS have offered to DROP the smear campaign against Justice Kavanaugh IF President Trump HALTS the declassification of the FISA documents. I say NO DEAL! The accuser is nothing but a tawdry, lying slut.

If he was not at the party, if he never drank before he turned 18...then he has nothing to fear.

I am also interested in the related issue of Ford's psychiatrist helping her recover her "repressed memories" of Kavanaugh. Jeffery Toobin had warned that if any R became POTUS in 2012, he would put K on the SCOTUS. Romney lost so they didn't need Ford yet....

notes from the therapy say nothing of Kavanaugh’s name, only that she was, the Post reported, “attacked by students ‘from an elitist boys’ school’ who went on to become ‘highly respected and high-ranking members of society in Washington.

Collins is suggesting that the transparently bogus allegation be taken seriously. FUSC

As Tom Foley himself said, “Even though there is no evidence, the seriousness of the charge is what matters.”

I think Susan Collins has a very good idea.
The problem with it is that, as Scott Adams points out, “the truth doesn’t matter.” It can’t, because no amount of inquiry and investigation will lead to certainty - and therefore, the truth will not be known. And therefore, the decision will not be made on the basis of the truth.

If the decision will not, and cannot, be based on truth, the only rational thing to do is to trust due process. That is, do not pretend to investigate the unknowable, just go by the fact that it is absolutely unfair to expect Judge Kavenaugh to “prove a negative.” Ignore the allegation, and just vote as if it had never been broached.

Just hold the vote.

And, in future, the chairman of the committee should make the standard wedding ceremony disclaimer at the very start of the proceedings: “If anyone has any reason why this ceremony must not be performed, let him speak now or forever hold his peace.” Then when - not if, since it succeeded (so far) this time, and succeeded (for a time) back in Clarence Thomas’ hearing - a Democrat waves a paper and says, “this letter is from someone who didn’t want to come forward,” the chairman should either absolutely ignore it or, better, treat it as an affirmative vote in favor of recommending the nominee to the Senate.

How about bringing in women who dated Schumer, Durbin, Flake, Corker, Cummings, Booker, et al. and let’s see how clean their high school days and college days were? In fact, place ads asking for them to come forward, what do you think? Then let’s hear about Teddy Kennedy’s parties and behavior in DC restaurants. You know the ones we’ve all heard about! Time to highlight the Left’s behavior that’s been written about for decades. I want to see just how clean all these RATs truly are including their corruption and under-the-table payoffs.

And, while we’re at it, let the American people see the Senate and House slush funds to payoff the sexual misconduct of the schmucks in DC that We The People paid for.

It’s decades late, but it’s time to be on offense. Past time for the GOP to find their spine, guts, and gonads. If they can’t, vote them out!!

I think she is trying to avoid the circus of every committee member making a long speech before asking a party-/self-serving question that may or may not be pertinent to the accusation.

I’m no fan of Collins, but how many of the committee members are experienced in this sort of questioning? One other consideration, all of the Republicans are men. Four of the Democrats are women. Who’s going to win the don’t-look-like-a-bully contest?

Imagery is part of the process, sadly. The Republicans need to hire the sharpest female lawyer available, one who won’t be afraid to ask the questions the Republican males would have to tiptoe around. Remember how the Monica Lewinsky questioning went? Senators I thought would get the job done properly were all sweetness and light around the young female intern. That must not happen this time.
