(CNN)Federal prosecutors in New York are weighing criminal charges against former Obama White House counsel Greg Craig as part of an investigation into whether he failed to register as a foreign agent in a probe that is linked to former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, according to sources familiar with the matter.
In addition, these sources said, prosecutors in the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York are considering taking action against powerhouse law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where Craig was a partner during the activity under examination. Prosecutors are considering a civil settlement with the firm or a deferred prosecution agreement with Skadden, these sources said. An attorney for Craig, who left the Skadden firm in April and who was White House counsel under President Barack Obama during the first year of that administration, said his client "was not required to register under the Foreign Agent Registration Act." A spokeswoman for Skadden didn't respond to a request for comment.

Greg Craig is the worm who spearheaded the pro-Fidel expulsion of Elian Gonzalez for the Clintons and Janet Reno.
What about podesta?
Its easy to forget that Manafort is something like the eight person in history to be charged under FARA. People were always given the chance to back file and possibly pay a civil penalty.
Craig’s higher hanging fruit. Not getting my hopes up, but if they do - wow!
Charges against a Democrat in this day and age? This article should be classified as Satire, or maybe Humor.
Who has recused themselves in New York????
Call when Craig or any gets busted.
The Podesta Group, a prominent lobbying and public relations firm, is one of the two unidentified companies mentioned in the grand jury indictment of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and his deputy Richard Gates, NBC News reported Monday.
Manafort and Gates approached Company A and Company B in 2012 about lobbying on behalf of the Ukrainian government, according to the indictment that was unsealed Monday.
“What about podesta?”
They are on the safe side of our two tiered justice system.
Refresh my memory: isn’t Craig the same person who exonerated the Obama transition team during the investigation of contacts between Rahm Emanuel and Rod Blagojevich concerning the vacant US Senate seat in Illinois. Team Obama was trying to persuade Blagojevich to appoint Valerie Jarrett to the US Senate.
When the scandal broke, the Obama people denied any wrongdoing. Governor Blagojevich wound up in prison for trying to solicit a bribe in return for the appointment.

The populace of America had been dumbed down to the point of not understanding where Rights come from and what dictatorship is all about and agreed with this decision. It was a moment I'll never forget, like the moment I found out JFK was assassinated or the Twin Towers fell.
Sending Elian back by jack booted thugs at gunpoint, grabbed from the protective arms of his cousin, that was the moment the Freedom Bell stopped ringing for America. So go get Craig, start with him and keep going!
Won’t happen Dems walk free.
Meanwhile Democrats are salivating over the possibility that Manafort’s cooperation will involve information damaging to Trump - could be in for a big bad surprise....
yawn......they won’t
“The moment it hit me the Republic is no longer free...”
Yes, definitely a watershed moment for me too.
And on Easter Sunday if I’m not mistaken.
I hope Craig gets thrown in prison.

Excellent point.

I don’t know. Interesting. He has hand his hand in a lot of things.
