WASHINGTON — Paul Manafort, President Trump’s former campaign chairman, agreed on Friday to cooperate with the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, as part of a deal in which he pleaded guilty to reduced charges.

Appearing in United States District Court in Washington, Mr. Manafort entered guilty pleas on two charges. Andrew Weissmann, the lead prosecutor, told Judge Amy Berman Jackson that there was a cooperation agreement with Mr. Manafort.

Trump has been very generous to Manafort.

Manafort needs to not hop on the Make Stuff Up Bandwagon.

The Trump Train is much better for him.

A federal is a federal case. I followed the Bunkerville and Oregon cases where the feds went after Cliven Bundy, Ammon Bundy, Ryan Bundy and others.

They start out by charging you with 20 different crimes with a 500 year potential sentence.

Nigel Farage made the point, very valid point, that you have to spend a zillion dollars on lawyers or cut a deal with them the way cases are rigged.

Farage and the people in the Bundy’s cases I read and watched online made the point that the feds have a 98 percent conviction rate.

The piled on charges are designed to elicit a guilty plea or plea deal.

They use the threat of a hundred years or more in prison to end up getting you jailed for 5 or 10 on the guilty pleas.

Why do you pity Manafort so much? He ruined his own life with choosing to launder $30m and cheat on the taxes with $15m.

While it may very well be true that if he hadn’t worked on Trump campaign then he’d have gotten away with it and still be walking around in his ostrich jacket, but these are serious crimes.

“Trump is asleep when it comes to Sessions, Rosenstein and Mueller.”

Nonsense. Mueller’s witch hunt will collapse under its own weight - and that is the best scenario for Trump.

Trump could use his executive authority to apply heavy-handed force to squash Mueller’s investigation - but to do so would be a missed opportunity.

If he can instead engineer a scenario where Mueller self-destructs - then he deprives them of the martyrdom they seek, and he avoids the appearance of obstruction - all while appearing the innocent victim of a witch hunt, rather than a defensive, guilty, and vindictive Nixon.

Trump is making the right play.

Manafort surrendered $46 million in assets as part of this deal. It actually turned the investigation into a profit-generating enterprise for the DOJ.

Those that put him in this position to defend himself against any wrong doing on his part are by far more guilty within themselves. The investigators are found out daily to be more corrupt! So who is more guilty? Not a question but in reality the very corrupt investigators have committed a false narrative to over-reach and scrutinize anyone that was associated with Donald J. Trump!
The investigators or far more corrupt and ruined many people. They simply are just losing their jobs! That's Justice. I don't think So! SAD you don't get it!

Had Manafort stayed loyal to Trump he could have been out in less than 6 years.

Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, SS disability, the entire US military, police departments, fire departments, roads and highways, medical research and development, universal/public education started by Thomas Jefferson, clean air, clean water, untainted meat/food in restaurants, border patrol...........all socialism. What do you mean socialism is “coming”? Socialism has been part of America since her founding. We are a mixed economy of Capitalism and socialism. Why are you trying to make “socialism” such a boogeyman word? Kinda alarmist and a bit childish isn’t it?

No, If not, we’ll suffer the consequences.

**************

Yes, we all will. Clearly the FBI and DOJ went rogue, as did some of their “sister” agencies.

No organization or business can survive subversive resistance within its ranks. That’s why it is PAST TIME for Trump to stop tweeting and start straightening out this mess within his own executive branch of government.

He is the only one who can do it.

“What are we going to do about it?”

It seems nothing short of a civil war will solve it being that we no longer have a Republican party or a legit justice dept. It’s Trump and the people who support him going it alone vs. enemies of this country and the morons who support them who are hellbent not only in removing Trump but removing the USA entirely from the world stage.

And I read last week Hillary illegally laundered $84 MILLION in campaign money and she gets not so much as a parking ticket and that is just ONE of her criminal acts.

Can someone help me with the date at which the first texts between Strzok and Page became known through media?

I could ask google, but I hate them and besides they probably don’t know or care.

I hope you are right.

Some say: why do we defend Manafort if he avoided paying tax money? I still say it is unfair and brutal to burst into a house and terrorize a family and throw family photos and belongings onto the floor after breaking down a door. How can the American people say that is okay? Try being the victim yourself, you losers.

Being someone working for a rival political candidate is not a crime!! Stalin would have loved Mueller.

The FEC reviewed that claim and decided it was spurious. You can extrapolate from that information about the FEC.

"We have a Republican controlled White House. We have a Republican controlled House of Representatives. We have a Republican controlled Senate. We have a Republican controlled Supreme Court. And yet the Democrats are still in charge."

the "Republican" politicians are just the submissive wing of the Uniparty. They let the Dominating Democrats whip them and they love it

He is the only one who can do it.

Unless he has one of these that we don't know about, we may have few choices..None of these that we were bombarded with ever came about, but hey, one can hope I guess.
