Wave heights to 83 ft were measured early this morning by satellite altimeter under the northeast quadrant of Hurricane Florence. These enormous waves are produced by being trapped along with very strong winds moving in the same direction as the storm's motion.
Some strengthening is forecast through Wednesday night, drawing energy from the warm water. Its winds could approach Category 5 strength, which means winds of 157 mph or higher.

I guess you could be right. It’d be good if you are.

Strength in numbers. When 3 of them are kids and girls for that matter, the strength you’ll need is holding the string while flying them as kites. What a moron!

LOL! I think I got the idea from a National Guard friend, but can't remember for sure.
Did that protocol change more than a few minds about evacuation?

Oh boy, here they come, the excessively weather involved attacking anyone who dares to say that this is anything less than the storm of the century. Was he “downcasting,” lol? Do you actually believe there are people hanging onto every word on FR and basing their decisions upon opinions expressed here? I don’t.

How do you suppose it got so old? Hazel was far worse than this will be, count on it. That house made it through, and has made it through many storms since.

Good, interesting information. Thanks!

As you can see by the graph at the bottom of its page, the wave height has tripled to over 21 feet since this morning.

Hurricane Florence generating enormous waves up to 83 feet high
Partner, we believe these numbers since Katrina has about a 35' to 40 foot high storm surge in Biloxi, MS.
A lot of folks never talk about the damage that Karina did on the Mississippi coast line and to the Louisiana coast line next to Mississippi.
This storm is bigger than Katrina
