Now I have to wonder, was this entire monster storm thing a hoax?

Evidently people don’t pay attention, but this has been happening ever since Katrina. Monster storms mysteriously turn into average storms when they get to land where citizens can see them with their own eyes.
Remember, the size on visuals is not indicative of storm power. This morning, the radar returns already looked pretty weak, meaning the storm was dissolving before our eyes.
Tonights declassification to C2 and projected C1 landfall strength just confirms it.
