Who did it?
But didn’t they realize we’d find out? Not just idiots but Evil Commie Idiots.
Could a leakage meter pick up the weapon’s use?
Do we not have instrumentation to detect this microwave radiation?
This somewhat sketchy looking website is already on to it.
Everyone knows that China is a wonderful Christian nation who would never do anything to hurt us.
They are full of love, sunshine and cuddly puppies.
Is this going to be justification to wear tin-foil hats and Devo jump suits?
Oh good grief. It’s NOT microwaves!
It’s a sonic data transmitter that spies use to extract data by sound waves without tripping RF sensors.
In contrast, microwaves are RF. Microwaves are easily detected with RF sensors.
If the attacks were by microwaves, our RF sensors would have detected them.
Soundwaves aren’t RF, though.
A bug inside an embassy that transmits by ultrasound WON’T trip an RF detector.
So if you want to eavesdrop on diplomats inside an embassy, you use a sonic transmitter (bug).
...of course, loud ultrasonic transmissions are hazardous to humans nearby.
It iseems obvious that either WE were testing something at our embassies that we suddenly discovered had serious unintentional side effects or China did. But it doesnt make sense that we or China would intentionally harm embassy staff. I think it was an accident. Either way, we probably wont be told.
Every employ must now be equipped w/ a bag of “Pop Secret” in each pocket and alert security if any ‘pop’ is heard.
The headline indicates that it’s not a certainty that microwave weapons were used, but the article leaves open the possibility it may or may not be the case (although likely).
(microwaves now considered the main suspect)
It’s an old spy tool that we have as well. It’s not microwaves, but terahertz waves that are just below the microwave band.
