Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, who was Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)s running mate in the 2008 presidential election, has been excluded from his funeral. Breitbart News has independently confirmed an earlier report in People magazine, which reported that Palin was not sent an invitation, and was told through intermediaries to stay away from the ceremony.
McCain fundraiser Carla Eudy confirmed to People that Palin had not been invited possibly, People speculated, at the behest of the McCain family.
The news comes on the tenth anniversary of the date in 2008 when Palin was announced as McCains pick for Vice President.
Palin now joins President Donald Trump on the list of those barred from the funeral.
But unlike Trump, Palin never feuded with McCain and never criticized him.
When news broke on Saturday of McCains passing, Palin said: Today we lost an American original. Sen. John McCain was a maverick and a fighter, never afraid to stand for his beliefs. John never took the easy path in life and through sacrifice and suffering he inspired others to serve something greater than self.
John McCain was my friend. I will remember the good times. My family and I send prayers for Cindy and the McCain family.

Oooh! There’s an idea!
Carry “something” in a Starbucks coffee cup and “Oops” it on the site.
...... gotta love that girl.
Sounds like the "barred" list is a pretty cool place to be.
I have never believed in that axiom. If I dislike, have no respect, or even hate for an individual while alive, why does he/she/it deserve different just because they died?
We ALL die. It is no great accomplishment. IMO, people deserve praise or condemnation in death according to their actions in life. If an a-hole during life, I reserve the right to say so when the a-hole is the ground. McCain turned out to be an a-hole by his own free will. Screw him.
Mcshame never hesitated to attack and insult those who gave everything for him
Does anyone have a pic of McCain’s thumbs-down vote AGAINST the repeal of ObamaCare?
All the speakers look like Oompa Loompas. Joe Biden looked like Oompa Loompa with orange ultra-gloss face paint.
Was it worth all those years of gushing crapola about McTraitor, Sarah? Honor God and stay true to truth.
>>”One should not speak ill of the dead so lets not comment at all on this absurdity.”

Exactly. Just because someone has passed is no reason to stop speaking Truth.
>>Wouldnt it be great if in 2020 Trump drop Pence and added Palin?-)

A couple of years ago I would have said YES, but not anymore.
I’m hoping Trump will drop Pence and add POMPEO!!
As someone noted earlier in the thread, McCain’s campaign was dead in the water until Palin was added.
Money poured in for the campaign after that. Everyone was excited about Palin. With rare exception every single Republican or Conservative I talked to was voting for Palin. I met one young couple who did not care for her and one Republican voter who didn’t care one way or the other.
I voted for Palin as I know so many on here did.
McCain’s interview in which he stated he wished he had never picked her was shocking. Petty, bitter horrible thing to say about his running mate.
But now to be told she isn’t welcome at the funeral of someone Palin considers a friend? It’s so far beyond the pale I am surprised there is not more commentary about this online.
I do not know if Sarah is surprised but she must have been very hurt by this. - and of course every gleeful reporter who has a chance will delight in asking her:
’ So, how do you feel about not being invited to the funeral? ‘.
Palin deserves so much more than this.
I’d say the McCain family should be ashamed for humiliating Palin but I know they do not care.
On deaf ears but Sen. McCain was a petty, bitter, frustrated little man.
McCain knew that Sarah Palin at his funeral would upstage him just like she did during his campaign for president. McCain couldn’t draw the crowds that Sarah did.
same here!
Sarah Palin was loyal to McCain and may have brought more votes to him than he did himself. This week not was released he didn’t want her at his funeral No class and vindictive a she always was. And not one other politician came forward and said, I won’t be there because he snubbed his loyal VP.
What a petty, vindictive little man he turned out to be. I have zero respect and will pay zero respect!
Same here. I actually bothered to get my ass off the couch to vote for Sarah and save the country from 0bongo. Despite McStain.
This isn’t a bad thing. Think they’ll start popping off political crap? That seems to be a thing with liberal/progressive politician funerals these days. I’m counting on Megan to be horribly embarrassing.
No kidding. A person’s last words on their death bed is a political shot at somebody? That meets my definition of lame.
Better she had followed the course you hypothesized.
