ox News analyst Brit Hume took a swipe at President Trump over his tweet offering condolences to the family of GOP Sen. John McCain (Ariz.), who died Saturday at the age of 81.
Hume pointed out that Trump’s tweet avoided praising McCain himself, setting it vastly apart from the dozens of tributes to the late senator posted by lawmakers from both parties.
“My deepest sympathies and respect go out to the family of Senator John McCain,” Trump tweeted Saturday after the announcement of McCain’s death. “Our hearts and prayers are with you!”
“Still not a kind word about McCain himself,” Hume replied.

today the RINOS and never trumpers were rehabbing their OWN status on the body of the late senator.
The hypocrisy was palatable.
Probably the only way they’d sing praises of McCain is to bring the RINO’s out!

He gave an ugly gesture when he voted against repealing Obamacare (after campaigning against it), he treated my beloved Sarah Palin like a piece of crap (and DJT likes Sarah), orchestrated the evil dossier because Trump had insulted him (rightly!) and refused to resign for something like six months while the people of Arizona were ignored.
Every so often, Brit Hume displays his (sawed off) RINO horns. Maybe just to keep his membership active in that private club.
I’ve never heard Hume criticize McCain for never offering a kind word about Trump. Nor have I heard Hume criticize McCain for passing along the dossier, even going so far as to dispatch someone to London to pick it up. McCain doesn’t deserve any kind words from Trump.
I am a Viet Nam vet. Trump was nicer than I have been thinking.
I do appreciate his service as I do all that serve. However, once he gout out of the service and became a politician, he was self centered with little regard for the people he represented.
Good grief! I am so sick and tired of the nit picking from morons. Kathy Griffin said something like, get that honorable man’s name out of your mouth you filthy pile of sh*t! So classy and all of a sudden McCain has so many admirers in the MSM.
I see that Obama paid McCain his highest possible complement by comparing the deceased Senator to himself.
Trump took the high road and didn’t offer unfelt praise. I think his tweet was just right. Trump is many things, but fake is not one of them.
Honestly, McCain detested Trump and stabbed him in the back at every opportunity. He’s lucky Trump isn’t dancing on his grave.
President Trump is being very classy by not mentioning the ruthless, classless, undignified attacks McCain made on him and the nation.
Note to Mr. Hume: Maybe POTUS knows something you don’t....
He’s part of that dusty old club of “been there too long” talking heads that are only good at posing.

Regardless of what Trump released (tweet or otherwise), the media would have found reason(s) to complain and gripe.
Next up — whether Trump defies McCain and attends the funeral — to which the media will be in an uproar — or does not attend — to which the media will be in an uproar ...
Same song, different verse. Media have been singing it since Trump got the nomination and won on election night.
Hume has spent too much time in D.C.
