Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., intends to introduce a resolution in the Senate to rename a Senate office building after the late Sen. John McCain, he announced Saturday.
McCain, R-Ariz., died Saturday at 81 following his battle with brain cancer. His death comes after the senator’s family announced Friday he would be discontinuing medical treatment.
Schumer, along with other congressional leaders, praised McCain for his service in the military and the Senate, as well as his patriotism and courage.

Pretty cynical to immediately use his death to try and change the name of something you don’t like by basically saying “I dare you to vote against this, so my media pals can write how horrible you are.”
There will be little opposition to renaming the Russell Building to the McCain Building.
Russell was a Segregationist and co-authored the Southern Manifesto.
No member of the Senate is going to take to the Senate Floor and argue that that building should remain named after a Segregationist.
And they need to get rid of all the Robert Bird buildings too.

Fine by me if they rename the building for two 4-star admirals. Just amend it to Sr./Jr. instead of III.
