An Arizona father faces a second-degree murder charge after he allegedly hit, stomped and kicked a man who tried to get into a bathroom stall his teenage daughter was using.
Melvin Harris, 40, is being held in jail on a $100,000 bond for allegedly killing a man police identified as Leon Leevon Armstrong at a Phoenix QuikTrip convenience store in early August.
Harris’ fiancee, Diana Jackson, wonders when she’ll see him again. She says despite the murder charge against him, Harris did nothing wrong.

I've read about this elsewhere, and from everything I can gather, there was no actual threat to the daughter; the father was assuaging his feelings.

Rather than killing the guy after his daughter was no longer in danger he should have held him until police arrived. He could have still gotten in a few licks short of killing him.
Unfortunately it didn’t go down like that so he will probably do some time. My guess is it won’t be too long. We’ll see.

This brings tears to my eyes. A father does anything to protect his children. When my kids were young, I always put their car seats opposite me. If I got into a situation, I would make sure the driver side to the brunt of the crash

don’t know what to think. I suggest people read the article. everyone is thinking it is a child but if you read the article you find out the girl is 16 years old not the picture of a child posted on the board. the girl complained to the security guard about the guy going into the bathroom trying the nob on the stall she was in then leaving. she was not satisfied guards response and went out to the car told her dad who drove over to the road the guy was walking down after leaving the location and beat the guy till he died.
I my self have accidently walked into the girls rest room realized my mistake and walked out sheepishly and embarrassed.
I don’t know what happened but this dad had chance to think about what had happened and because the family and news site chose to post a misleading picture that makes every on who looks at the head line and think pedophile going after someone under the age of 12 I have questions.
I cant automatically say the dad did not make a horrible mistake and kill an innocent man. The guy looks guilty but facts not emotion need to be looked at.

The absolute stupidity of the absolute ignorants who thought this a good idea to share restrooms.. didn’t see this would happen? Any father witnessing his little girl in danger... the perp got what he had comming.. the ignorants ought to be taken in and schooled.
That photo’s from an earlier arrest. He may have been huffing or chuffing or whatever it’s called. It leaves residue — usually paint — on the user’s mouth. Also, the daughter was 16 when the bathroom incident occurred, so that photo of the girl (if it is indeed her) is a few years out of date.
