The Senate confirmed two more appeals court judges Thursday, continuing to make progress on President Trumps goal of revamping the federal judiciary after a maverick Republican dropped his blockade.
Sen. Jeff Flake earlier this summer had halted progress on judges, staging a protest over Mr. Trumps trade policies.
But after getting the chance to vote on a non-binding statement of pushback against Mr. Trump, the Arizona Republican relented last month and the GOP was able to clear more judges through the committee pipeline, readying them for floor votes.
The latest two to earn full Senate approval were Marvin Quattlebaum and Julius Richardson, both of whom will sit on the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Judge Quattlebaum was confirmed 62-28, while Mr. Richardson was cleared by 81-8.

Don’t nominate judges from non Trump states and AZ.
That should ease the sewer backup.
26 down, 153 left to go.
According to the article, "Judge Quattlebaum was confirmed on a 62-28 vote, while Mr. Richardson was cleared by an 81-8 margin." There are currently 51 Republicans in the Senate, so Richardson got at least 30 democrat votes. Quattlebaum got at least 11.
That assumes that the 10 Senators who did not vote were all democrats. If any of the 51 Republicans did not vote, then the number of democrat votes would have to be higher.
They need to pack the freaking courts.
Good. We got two more Circuit Court Judges. That makes it 26. Almost halfway to balancing out Obama’s Circuit Court appointments. Not bad for a year and a half.

The court will now be evenly divided between 9 Dem appts and 9 Rep appts. However, two of the Rep appointments are senior status, so will be leaving soon.
That’s true. There’s a FReeper here who averages in several groups from left and right to distill a “truer” rating. Still, I find the ACU tends to get about as close to the average in figuring out which are to be trusted and which aren’t.
Sinema is a loon with the record to boot. Race ain’t over, yet.
Whoops! You are correct...{:-)

After seeing that the policies were having positive effects on us and hurting our enemies, Flake decided that he would end up looking like Pelosi, The Crazy Cuban or Mad Max-ine......
