The Florida man who invoked the "stand your ground" self-defense after shooting a black man in a dispute over a parking space was charged Monday with manslaughter, officials said.

Michael Drejka, 47, was arrested Monday morning in the fatal shooting in July of Markeis McGlockton in Clearwater, Florida.

This is being prosecuted for political reasons. The DA knows they have little chance of convicting this guy

Actually, they HAVE to put this guy away.

He's a dangerous lying POS who is a menace to society, rolling around confronting people and instigating road-rage incidents while packing his portable little manhood, brandishing it freely to intimidate other unarmed peasants who cross his path.

Then you have to take into account of the shooter’s past history of playing parking space cop and threatening others. He wan’t Joe Blow minding his own business.

He had this entire little act of rolling around in his truck or SUV, confronting people or instigating road rage incidents, then lying to the cops and the people he was trying to intimidate and provoke.

Just watching him on the FULL video - he's got this "obnoxious pathetic sad sack" thing going on, baiting the people to go after him.

Well we will know pretty quick. I say the defendant walks as this was a clear case of self defense. It's going to be very clear to a jury if the shooter was not armed this attack would not have ended. The attacker was still just a few feet away from the shooter and had not turned to run or made any clear indication that he was done with his assault.

If society believes in self defense there are going to be cases like this. It comes with the territory. There are going to be cases that appear the defender did not have to use deadly force but we must err on the side of the defender. The deceased initiated a violent, potentially deadly attack so the law must protect the shooter or we are all in danger. No attack no shooting. If the deceased would have simply got in his car and drove away he would be alive today. Conversely if the victim in this case was not armed its very likely he would be dead.

"Did you watch the video? 20 feet distance can be closed and an injury delivered before at person can draw a weapon."

BINGO! As soon as the defense brings up the much used in law enforcement "21 foot rule" the charges will be dropped.

You didn't read the article I posted a link for, did you?

The prosecutor is quietly building up a stack of "incidents" this weird little poisonous toad was involved in.

More people will be coming forward. The ones that have already come forward are bad enough...

The victim was not armed and IS dead.

The weird little poisonous toad is still alive.

But "the brothers" will take care of that, one way or another - either on the street or in prison.

I'm betting in prison.

No I did not read the link but I will. The problem is that stuff is likely not going to even make it into the court room. Also it's a very clear indication the prosecution already knows they have no case so the prosecution is going to put the man on trial and not the crime because there is no crime.

I will check out the link but I must tell you the prosecutor digging dirt on this guy is a crystal clear indication they have no case.

If this is murder the prosecutor will simply try the case based on the crime and the evidence but this is self defense and the prosecution knows it.

The State was very quick in filing the manslaughter charge. That possibly indicates State investigators found some pretty solid evidence oearly on. Like talk of him threatening to shoot people before, a pattern of aggression, maybe even telling someone he wanted to shoot someone. None of these have anything to do with the actual self-defense but claiming self defense is quite difficult if the person was creating confrontations as a pretext to kill.

The state filed charges for political reasons. Just like in the Zimmerman case.

The problem is that stuff is likely not going to even make it into the court room.

One of the other posters indicated that his past behavior could be brought up in the case of a manslaughter charge.

BTW- they charged him with manslaughter.

officer: "I advised him his (concealed carry) permit did not give him the right to exhibit (a gun) because he was ‘flipped off’ for honking at someone," the officer wrote. "I told him a report would be taken and that if the victim was located he could face jail and the loss of his (concealed carry permit)."

The victim in this case is GOING to be located.

The boss who took the call where Drejka said his employee was lucky he didn't shoot him is going to testify.

I sense that you don't like this fact - but they HAVE to get this poisonous little toad off the street.

The state filed charges because Drejka is a very dangerous and poisonous little toad.

They can't have him rolling around on the road, confronting people and instigating raod-rage incidents.

Read the article on his nasty little hobby:

I think Drejka walks before a jury is picked. There’s a hearing to be held first and the state has the burden of proof to prove he had no right to defend himself.

You guys are hilarious [not you, Justa].

If Justa is correct about the prosecutors being able to dredge up his sordid little past with a manslaughter charge, he's toast.

I would have to disagree. The State only filed the manslaughter charge after the race baiters got involved and it was clear they were headed for another zimmerman case. They jumped in to prevent the riots and backlash of the left.

These charges are political and have no merit based on the evidence and the law. My guess is the state will play the wait and delay game and see if this dies down at which time charges will be dropped.

if they use drejka’s past they use mcglockton’s past and mcglockton’s past is MUCH MUCH worse.

Was Drejka ever arrested or even charged? Doesn't look like it. Show me the arrest records or get the heck out of here with your mainstream media agit-propaganda. On the other hand, we DO know that Mcglockton has a history of violence.
